In the Spirit of Youth Pledge Day: The Prabowo-Gibran Administration is Committed to Improving the Quality of Human Resources for the Young Generation

Jakarta – The Youth Pledge, declared on October 28, 1928, was a historical milestone that marked the birth of collective awareness among the younger generation in fighting for national independence.
The spokesperson for the Government Communications Agency (BKP), Hariqo Wibawa Satria, said that when Prabowo became President, the free nutritious meal program (MBG) became the largest program in Indonesia, and the number of beneficiaries had reached 45 million people and would continue to grow every day.
“The MBG program has already benefited 37 million people, and has created 12 thousand SPPG kitchens and millions of parents as well as several thousand MSMEs,” said Hariqo when he was a resource person with the theme “Commemorating the 97th Youth Pledge, Prabowo-Gibran’s Commitment to Welcoming Golden Indonesia 2045 Through Improving the Quality of Human Resources”, on Metro TV, Tuesday (28/10) evening.
Furthermore, during the Prabowo-Gibran administration, tens of thousands of school renovations have taken place. A 22 trillion rupiah budget has been allocated for school revitalization and the creation of 400,000 new workers. This is the largest school revitalization effort in the reform era.
“Now extracurricular activities are free, and every student even gets a laptop. The President honors our brothers and sisters in deciles 1 and 2,” he explained.
Hariqo also hopes that young people will refrain from corruption and harm society, as this contradicts the spirit of the Youth Pledge. The primary spirit of the Youth Pledge is to remind each other and collectively reject corruption for the sake of a clean and dignified Indonesia.
“Let’s commit to reminding each other, monitoring each other, and reporting anyone involved in corruption. Don’t hesitate to offer criticism and suggestions, as they are vital for the government,” he urged.
What’s commendable about this Youth Pledge commemoration is that in one year, there’s been no polarization like before. Because on October 28th, we pledged to be one Indonesian nation.
“Hopefully, this will be a stepping stone to a foundation, so that in 2026 we can move even faster,” he said.
Meanwhile, at the same location, Papuan Youth Leader and Member of the Executive Committee for the Acceleration of Papua’s Special Autonomy Development, Billy Mambrasar, stated that the involvement of young men and women in running the kitchen was very significant, to the point that they were able to feed students and engage millennial farmers.
“The President’s program isn’t just a single program, but a unified whole. The spirit of the Youth Pledge isn’t just numerical, but philosophically, one. It means everyone has equal opportunities,” Billy said.
According to him, many local governments have seized the opportunity given by President Prabowo to maximize existing education and access programs.
“The government provides opportunities, and young people should seize them. Don’t be passive. Everyone has an equal chance to take advantage of the opportunities available,” he said.
The spirit of the Youth Pledge must be implemented in daily life as a concrete form of love for the homeland, social responsibility, and active participation in national development.
“Youth involvement is also crucial to encourage them to take risks and seize the opportunities offered by the government,” Billy concluded. [*]
