Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Ensures There Will Be No Intelligence Intervention in the Implementation of the 2024 Election in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur – Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia Hermono emphasized that the implementation of the 2024 General Election in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia was proceeding properly, there was no intelligence intervention. This was conveyed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia Hermono when giving his response at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia regarding a circulating video accusing intelligence of being involved in the implementation of the 2024 elections in Kuala Lumpur. “Even if there are outside parties who try to intervene, will the PPLN (Overseas Election Committee) come back, don’t they want to intervene?” said Hermono at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Regarding the accusation in the one minute and nine second video which stated that there was intelligence intervention in determining the Kuala Lumpur Permanent Overseas Voter List (DPTLN), he emphasized that the voter list was determined based on the results of the Kuala Lumpur PPLN Plenary meeting. He added that the plenary meeting not only involved PPLN Kuala Lumpur, but also representatives of political parties, the General Election Commission (KPU), the Overseas Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu LN) Kuala Lumpur. “Then how do you want to intervene?” said Hermono, while emphasizing that even if external parties try to intervene, PPLN must maintain its integrity. Any interested party can of course intervene, but it is up to PPLN whether they want to intervene or not. “There is an Integrity Pact,” he said. PPLN Kuala Lumpur Confirms that the Election Runs Conducively Without Intervention from Any Party. The Chairman of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) in Kuala Lumpur, Omar Faruk, also conveyed a similar thing. According to him, the voting was carried out with full enthusiasm by Indonesian citizens without any intelligence involvement in it. “The videos circulating and going viral on social media related to the issue of ballot theft, POS Malaysia bribing to obtain ballot papers and the involvement of government officials in manipulating the election are baseless accusations made by certain individuals who have an interest in the 2024 Election “PPLN is also intensively communicating with the Indonesian KPU and has clarified hoax issues circulating on social media.” Explained Umar Faruk. The chairman of PPLN Malaysia denied the involvement of BIN and Hermanto in intervening between PPLN and Panwaslu KL in the election process. According to him, these accusations were deliberately carried out by certain elements to discredit BIN as a government institution. Meanwhile, in a video on social media, Indonesian citizens were seen crowding the WTC area until they were overflowing. PPLN appeared to be controlling the voting flow of voters who came in droves.
