ISF 2024 Industry Players Showcase Innovation in Energy Transition Sector
Jakarta – The 2024 Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta on 5-6 September, will be an event for industry players in the country to showcase their innovations in the energy transition sector.
This was stated by the Deputy Chairperson for Maritime Affairs, Investment and Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Shinta Kamdani.
Shinta emphasized that the forum would be more than just a discussion.
“What is certain is that this forum is not only a discussion forum, but there will be concrete results and outcomes, including opportunities for industries to showcase their projects,” said Shinta.
Furthermore, Shinta said that the technological aspect is important in the development of the new renewable energy (EBT) industry. Even so, she considered one of the main challenges related to the accuracy of EBT generating technology in other countries with Indonesia.
“We are here to prioritize the technological aspect. Because for renewable energy, one of the biggest challenges is bringing the right technology,” said Shinta.
Therefore, Shinta said, the government and Kadin will not only focus on funding for the 2024 ISF. The government and Kadin will look at other aspects, namely improving the quality of human resources (HR) in Indonesia. This is because HR is very important to increase the application of renewable energy resources, including solar energy.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin, said that ISF 2024 will bring together world leaders, CEOs, and sustainability experts in encouraging business breakthroughs to address climate change issues.
“We are now in a make-or-break moment, because every small step we take can cause regression or progress in overcoming the climate crisis,” said Rachmat.
Rachmat added that ISF will also provide the latest information on Indonesia’s decarbonization process, which is the core of Indonesia’s climate commitment.
“A greener and more inclusive future through collaborative efforts will be showcased by ISF 2024,” he concluded.
