Jakarta – Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Wakapolri), Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, emphasized that joint TNI-Polri patrols are clear evidence that security forces will not allow for anarchy, vandalism, or other attempts to disrupt public order. He stated that the presence of joint personnel down to the neighborhood unit (RT/RW) level demonstrates the state’s commitment to ensuring public safety.

“On the orders of the National Police Chief, I have instructed all regional and district police (Polres) to immediately conduct joint patrols with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). The goal is to ensure public safety from the threat of rioters and anarchists,” said Dedi in an official statement in Jakarta.

Dedi added that this large-scale patrol is an affirmation that the TNI-Polri will not tolerate actions that have the potential to disrupt public order and security.

“We reaffirm our commitment to ensuring there is no room for anarchy or vandalism. Any perpetrators who attempt to exploit the situation to loot or damage facilities will be dealt with firmly,” he said.

In addition to targeting residential areas, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) has also strengthened security at police headquarters and police barracks throughout Indonesia. This measure is being taken to protect the families of officers, detainees, and dangerous goods from falling into the hands of irresponsible parties.

“We cannot work alone. Collaboration between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), local governments, community leaders, religious leaders, and youth is key. The public is our eyes and ears,” Dedi emphasized.

Similar synergy was also seen in Bandung, West Java. Kodam III/Siliwangi, along with the regional police, conducted patrols using tactical vehicles at several vital locations in Bandung.

The Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Command, Major General Kosasih, emphasized that conditions in West Java remain under control and there is no cause for concern. He urged the public to remain calm and not be easily provoked by misleading information.

“I would like to convey that the situation in Bandung and West Java as a whole remains under control. Relations with the police are also good, and we are ready to fully support all security activities to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere,” he said.

He assured that the officers on duty would remain professional, measured, and uphold human rights in all their actions. With persuasive measures coupled with full preparedness, the TNI and Polri are optimistic that the situation will soon return to normal and public activities will continue smoothly.
