Papua – President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) Building, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. In his remarks, the Head of State said that he was proud because young Papuans now have room for empowerment and improving the quality of human resources.
“This is the first in Indonesia in Papua, I ask that it also be built in NTT, in West Papua, then in Maluku and Aceh starting this year, so that it will be completed next year by imitating everything here, this is very good,” he added President.
Furthermore, the Head of State said that Indonesia will experience a demographic bonus in 2035, including in Papua and West Papua. Therefore, President Jokowi encourages the creation of various platforms and new job opportunities.
“Don’t think that all of us want to become civil servants,” said the President.
The Head of State added that the development of PYCH was necessary to provide opportunities for young people to develop their creativity.
“I see that the opportunity in Papua is still very large, for young people to enter. And we hope this can provide increased welfare for the people of Papua that we love, “said President Jokowi
Meanwhile, Head of BIN General Police (Purn.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, SH, M.Sc., Ph.D revealed that the inauguration of PYCH was a form of the President’s commitment to building a Papuan talent center as a driving force for the economy and prosperity of Papua.
“Through the inauguration of PYCH, it will become the President’s Golden Ink Legacy in Papua.” Said the Head of BIN.
He also hopes that PYCH can become a milestone for the Papuan generation to continue to be creative and create jobs, develop business and the economy and develop cultural arts.
It should be noted that the construction of the PYCH building was initiated by President Joko Widodo and the Head of BIN General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan who was enthusiastically welcomed by the youth and people of Papua.
During the inauguration, the President was accompanied by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and a number of national and regional figures to Forkominda elements.
For information, PYCH was built on an area of 15 thousand square meters with a main building area of 3,520 square meters and 1,812 square meters of supporting buildings. This building has a parking area with a capacity of 53 cars, 154 motorbikes, and landscapes.
