CSOs and all interfaith activists very firmly reject the People Power action in Solo, especially ahead of the 2024 General Election. Because this clearly threatens and undermines the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. In fact, it should be at moments like this that people can continue to strengthen each other and strengthen their unity. In addition, these mass action movements are also highly unconstitutional.
A mass organization (Ormas) named Lindu Aji has rejected plans related to mobilizing a number of people entitled ‘Action of People Power’, which is planned to be held in Solo City on Friday, July 7 2023. In response to a number of parties continuing to spread rumors that the People Power Action would soon be implemented, the Secretary General of the Central Leadership Council (Secretary General of the DPP) Lindu Aji immediately opened his voice.
Nanang Setyono as the Secretary General of the DPP Lindu Aji emphasized that the existence of the People Power Action initiated by the Chairman of the Mega-Bintang Advisory Council, Moedrick Sangidu, would of course only be a trigger for new upheavals, the results of which would certainly not have any impact on public.
Therefore, because he saw that efforts to mobilize a number of people would only create uproar and not bring any positive impact to the people, Lindu Aji immediately very firmly rejected the plan for the People Power Action from the Mega-Bintang group.
Whereas, on the other hand, the people themselves are currently experiencing many problems, mainly they are faced with a social and economic situation that is currently still uncertain due to global economic uncertainty since the threat of crisis, inflation to stagflation in the world since 2023.
Precisely when the community itself is faced with this difficult situation, but instead it is coupled with actions that are completely unclear and do not have a positive impact on the people, then such things should not be done at all.
Moreover, at times like these, which are getting closer and closer to the implementation of the democratic party and political contestation through the holding of the General Election (Election) in the upcoming 2024. It should be precisely the implementation of the circulation of leadership in Indonesia every 5 (five) years can be welcomed with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm, full of positive things.
Instead of being warmly welcomed, a handful of parties wanted to make a movement that was electrifying and called the People Power Action and one of them had the goal of rejecting the implementation of a democratic party in the country.
There was a banner that was installed and even openly, which contained a call to reject the implementation of the 2024 elections. Not just one banner, but these banners were also installed at various other points, one of which was scattered in Colomadu, Karanganyar.
Responding to the posting of the banner calling for People Power Action and the rejection of the leadership circulation event every 5 (five) years in Indonesia, Colomadu Sub-District Head, Sriyono explained that the banner did not just appear out of nowhere, but was indeed deliberately put up by a group of unknown people in a number of strategic point segments that many people pass through.
So the emergence of various banners calling for People Power has shocked the residents and also has great potential to influence society and will greatly impact many parties in the country, where the impact will not be good, but bad.
The various banners that were found had a hostile tone and could also be arrested as having treasonous undertones, because the invitations contained in them were clearly not in accordance with the constitutional mandate in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
Not only that, but the calls for the People Power Action movement also have a provocative tone and will also be very prone to splitting the integrity of society in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. With this invitation, let alone the rejection of the implementation of the upcoming 2024 elections using the mobilization of a number of masses of people’s power, this is a scourge that must be seriously anticipated and watched out for by many regions.
Therefore, all parties, including religious leaders and community leaders in various regions should be able to continue to call on the whole community not to be easily consumed by issues and provocations like these things in the name of people power.
Because, ahead of the implementation of the 2024 Election, the community should be able to continue to strengthen their unity and unity, not be divided. The many invitations that have the potential to divide, such as the People Power Action ahead of the democratic party, must be firmly rejected by the community, all mass organizations and interfaith activists.
