MBG Program Has Significant Impact on Human Resources Quality in Papua

Papua – Papuan Community Leader, Esau Tegai, gave high appreciation to the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) initiated by the central government. According to him, the program has shown a significant impact on improving the quality of human resources (HR) in Papua.
“Basically, as a community leader in Jayapura Regency, I am committed to supporting the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program and overcoming nutritional problems, as a basic step to create a Papuan generation as a strong next generation and has the potential to become a pillar of progress in Papua for the progress of the nation in order to realize the ideals of the golden Indonesian nation in 2045,” said Esau.
Esau believes that MBG is not just a social program, but a long-term investment for the future of Papua. By increasing the nutritional intake of children from an early age, it is hoped that their thinking power, enthusiasm for learning, and physical abilities will increase. This will have a direct impact on their academic achievement and productivity in the future.
“As a community leader, I really appreciate the government in this case the Indonesian National Nutrition Agency (BGN) which has launched the Free Nutritious Meal program as part of an effort to improve the status of the community, especially children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. This program aims to ensure optimal nutritional fulfillment in Indonesia, especially in Papua, and is the foundation for realizing fair and equitable national development,” said Esau.
The MBG program itself has been implemented in various regions in Papua since early 2024. The local government works with schools, health workers, and social institutions to ensure the distribution of nutritious food that meets health standards.
Furthermore, Esau hopes that this program can continue and be expanded to reach all areas in Papua so that it is useful for the development of quality human resources towards a golden Indonesia in 2045.
“The Free Nutritious Meal Program is for the development of quality human resources in Indonesia, especially in Papua, towards the golden Indonesia in 2045 and creating a healthy and intelligent generation that is globally competitive, through strong collaboration between the government, society and the private sector. It is hoped that all program targets can be achieved and have a positive impact on national development,” concluded Esau.
MBG is proof that the state is present in Papua. But our task is not finished yet. Let us monitor together so that this program truly becomes the foundation for the realization of a healthy, intelligent, and resilient Papuan generation.
