Jakarta – The government is committed to encouraging the empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as one of the driving forces of national economic equality. Through various mentoring programs, access to financing, and market expansion, the government ensures that MSMEs can grow stronger, become more competitive, and contribute significantly to inclusive development.

Arif Rahman Hakim, Secretary of the Ministry of MSMEs, stated that his ministry is encouraging businesses to utilize appropriate technology to increase competitiveness and expand production capacity. According to Arif, the implementation of such technology has been proven to increase efficiency and productivity.

“If MSMEs want to enter mass production, they must achieve economies of scale to reduce production costs. One way to do this is through the use of appropriate technology-based tools,” said Arif.

Arif revealed that in 2025, the Ministry of MSMEs will collaborate with the East Java Provincial Government through Non-Physical Special Allocation Fund (DAK) funding. This collaboration aims to connect Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) with the industrial supply chain.

The program includes training for 4,649 participants, mentoring by 198 assistants, and incubation for 75 tenants. This initiative is expected to expand market access and increase production capacity.

“Furthermore, we are strengthening regional economic resilience through the use of digital technology and improving product quality. This connectivity is expected to strengthen local supply chains and reduce dependence on supplies from outside the region,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Baron, VP of Corporate Communications at PT Pertamina (Persero), stated that Pertamina continues to support MSMEs in upgrading their businesses. This initiative is a collaboration between PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sales Area South Kalimantan and Rumah BUMN Pertamina Banjarmasin.

“By strengthening cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration, we hope to further strengthen MSMEs in the regions, improving the quality of their products and acting as aggregators within their communities, expanding their economic and social impact,” Baron said.

Baron added that this kind of collaboration is in line with Pertamina’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goals 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), as well as supporting the government’s 6th Asta Cita on equitable and sustainable economic equality.

“With synergy between business units and corporate social programs, Pertamina continues to provide real solutions for empowering the community economy and strengthening the national MSME ecosystem,” Baron concluded.
