In the spirit of national unity and stability, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) KH. Marsudi Syuhud again emphasized the importance of implementing democracy in a peaceful and civilized manner.

In a recent statement, KH. Marsudi called on all citizens to stop anarchic democracy and shift to a more constructive approach to build a better Indonesia.

“Democracy is a means to express aspirations and to effect change, but in practice, we must maintain order and peace. Let us work together to create a harmonious atmosphere, because anarchy will only harm us all,” said KH. Marsudi Syuhud in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 2.

He emphasized that anarchic democracy would actually shake the nation’s social and political foundations. Therefore, it is crucial for every individual to respect each other’s opinions and collective decisions to achieve a civil society.

As Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), KH. Marsudi also emphasized the crucial role of religious scholars and community leaders in educating the public about democratic ethics.

“We invite religious scholars, organizational leaders, and the general public to work together to create a more constructive dialogue. Let us convey criticism and suggestions in a polite manner, always prioritizing the interests of the nation and state above all else,” he continued.

MUI believes that with unity and cooperation, Indonesia can face various challenges and build a brighter future.

“We appreciate that leaders from all religions gathered at the MUI, and we appreciate the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who has quickly addressed the current political issues. 16 organizations were gathered, including figures from all religions and religious organizations. This is something that other countries don’t have. Indonesia has an independent and distinct organization, even though on the other hand, its people are demonstrating, expressing their opinions, and it turns out that there are victims. Indonesia has a social organization that can balance this and convey this to the public,” he explained.
