All people in Indonesia, especially Indigenous Papuans (OAP), are obliged to provide full support to the efforts made by the Central Government so far to accelerate the acceleration of development on Cenderawasih Earth. The reason is that these development efforts will certainly not be maximally successful if they are not accompanied by support from the entire community.
One of the community leaders in Jayawijaya Regency, Yusen Tabuni, appealed to all OAP residents in particular to continue to provide full support to the efforts made by the central government to accelerate development in Bumi Cenderawasih.
According to him, so far the central government in the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has made efforts to accelerate development in Papua. One of them is the development of regional expansion through the provision of New Autonomous Regions (DOB) as a concrete manifestation of special attention to the people of Papua.
For this reason, in order to achieve progress, peace and prosperity for all Papuan people themselves, local community leaders never stop giving advice and also continue to invite all OAP people to fully support these development efforts.
It cannot be denied that with regional expansion in the form of the addition of several new provinces in Tanah Papua, it makes it easier for the people of Bumi Cenderawasih to access all public services from the Central Government. So this must also be balanced by the community continuing to maintain order and actively participating in the process of accelerating development promoted by the government in all fields.
Several steps that can be taken by the community to further maximize the acceleration of development are that indigenous Papuans should not be easily incited when they encounter a number of issues that have a provocative tone. Because when they are easily incited, of course this will be very prone to conflict, security disturbances and further division of unity. In other words, when all these disturbances occur, they will in fact further hamper the government’s efforts to carry out development and improve the welfare of its own community.
The Papuan people are obliged to continue to maintain peace and conducive conditions in their respective regions. Only by realizing security and peace is this a very important key to fully monitoring development progress and increasing the welfare of society.
Another step that can be taken by the OAP community is to further empower all programs that have been launched by the Central Government to fill Special Autonomy (Otsus) for the progress and welfare of all people in Bumi Cenderawasih.
With the increasingly massive development being accelerated by the government, which is not just a figment of the imagination, all progress is also very real and will certainly make Papua even more advanced and developed again. Because they felt that there was very real progress, the Papuan people themselves felt the very positive impact of the accelerated development so that they gave their full support.
It can be seen that the large amount of infrastructure that has been built in Bumi Cenderawasih is some of the many concrete evidence that Papua is indeed showing quite significant progress. The Central Government itself has a very strong commitment to increasingly accelerate development with only one goal, namely improving the welfare of the people, which is none other than the government’s goal of realizing equitable development in all corners of the country.
The seriousness given by the government is no joke in developing Papua. This can be seen from the draft of various regulations, such as the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) concerning the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Papua’s Special Autonomy Development (BP3OKP) and also the Presidential Decree concerning the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Papua’s Special Autonomy Development (RIPPP).
This clear and firm regulation becomes a legal umbrella or strong foundation for the movements carried out by the Government so far in accelerating development on Bumi Cenderawasih. Apart from regulations, cooperation is also needed from many other related parties such as the West Papua People’s Council (MRPB) so that the legal basis that has been issued can be properly realized in the field.
Jayawijaya veteran figure, Alex Doga, expressed his full support for the accelerated development carried out by the government. He represents all the people of Bumi Cenderawasih, starting from young people, religious leaders, community leaders and also women, expressing their approval for various government programs, including development in Papua.
Of course, by getting full support from all elements of Bumi Cenderawasih society, the accelerated development program promoted by the Central Government will be much more optimal.
