One Year of the Prabowo–Gibran Administration: Real Action for a Prosperous People
Jakarta — The first year of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has laid a solid foundation for the government’s direction over the next five years. Strategic programs such as Food Self-Sufficiency, Energy Self-Sufficiency, and Human Resource Development have been implemented decisively and in a well-measured manner.
Kompas Researcher Agustina Purwanti noted that the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) has taken many concrete actions, especially in strengthening food security. The level of public confidence in the Ministry’s ability to improve farmers’ welfare has reached 77 percent.
“The public sees the government’s seriousness in handling food programs. The large budget allocation — more than IDR 130 trillion this year — is proof of the government’s real commitment,” Agustina explained.
Food Analyst from Andalas University, Dr. Muhammad Maki, added that the government’s policies in maintaining grain prices, expanding agricultural mechanization, and strengthening farmer support systems have significantly boosted productivity and reinforced national food resilience.
“The current direction of agricultural policy has brought a sense of security and renewed confidence among farmers. From the farmers’ perspective, there is now assurance of fair government purchase prices for their harvest. This brings comfort and motivation,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia highlighted Ministerial Regulation No. 14 of 2025 concerning Cooperative Management of Oil and Gas Working Areas to boost production. The regulation aims to improve governance of community-based oil wells to make them more organized, safe, and sustainable.
“The control and management of natural resources must be done to the greatest benefit of the people,” Bahlil affirmed.
On the other hand, to enhance human capital and stimulate regional economic growth, President Prabowo Subianto has focused on two flagship social programs: Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and Free Health Checkups (CKG).
President Prabowo emphasized that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program is a strategic step to ensure Indonesian children grow up healthy and intelligent. “The Free Nutritious Meals program is essentially the provision of nutritious food at no cost. This program was born from my years of experience engaging directly with communities during my campaigns,” said the President.
As of mid-October 2025, the government has built 11,900 MBG community kitchens, serving 35.4 million children and pregnant women nationwide.
At the same time, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin reported that 41.89 million Indonesians have undergone medical checkups under the Free Health Checkup (CKG) program. This initiative has become one of the Ministry of Health’s top priorities to strengthen early disease detection and improve the quality of public healthcare services.
“The largest component so far is the free health checkup program. Based on the data I reviewed two days ago, about 44 million people have registered, and 41 million have already been examined — an extraordinary achievement,” Budi stated. [-RWA]
