The joint Task Force (Satgas) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) admit that extreme weather and difficult terrain are the main factors in their obstacles in their efforts to carry out the rescue mission for Susi Air airline pilots. .

In this regard, the Head of the Papua Regional Police (Kapolda), Inspector General of Police (Irjen Pol) Mathius D Fakhiri explained that the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) led by Egianus Kogoya also very deliberately continued to move their hostage places with the aim of making it difficult traced by security forces.
