Organizing Papua Street Carnival, PYCH Develops Singing Talents for Papuan Youth
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf RI) in collaboration with the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) will hold the Papua Street Carnival event in early July 2023. The Papua Street Carnival will be held around the Governor’s office in Papua.
The Papua Street Carnival event began with the Singing Audition for Papua Street Carnival event which was held as a pre-event for the Papua Street Carnival event. The Singing Audition For Papua Street Carnival event was attended by dozens of talented singers from Papua.
The singing audition was attended by dozens of participants who were very enthusiastic in showing their talents. Of the tens of participants, seven people successfully passed the selection and advanced to the next stage.
One of the participants who successfully passed the audition was Marsanda Imbiri (21). He expressed his joy after passing the Singing Audition For Papua Street Carnival selection stage.
“I feel happy, nervous, don’t think I can take part in an audition of this magnitude. I am happy, proud and grateful,” said Marsanda through an official statement, Monday (3/7/2023)
Marsanda expressed her hope to become the best daughter of Papua as a singer who was born from the land of Papua.
“My hope is that in the future I can move on to make Papua proud. (I) really want to (become a singer),” he said.
Besides Marsanda, Ino Kyeukyeu (25) was also one of the participants who passed the Singing Audition For Papua Street Carnival selection. Ino feels that the Papua Street Carnival event is a very useful event and is able to develop the potential of Papuan youth. He also hopes
“It is very extraordinary that auditions are held within the framework of the Papua Street Carnival. This is an event that will show the talents of Papuan children,” said Ino.
“My hope is that this event will continue to exist, and there will be more big events that show the original talents of Papuan children,” he continued.
The Papua Street Carnival event is also a forum for improving the creative economy in the land of Papua. This event involves thousands of creative economy actors, thousands of performers, hundreds of fashion parades, hundreds of creative MSME exhibitions, hundreds of decorative boats to a carnival.
As is known, the event was organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with PYCH which was supervised by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). It is hoped that this event will open up investment opportunities in the creative economy sector, have a positive impact on the local economy, increase people’s income, and become an effective promotion venue for the Papuan tourism sector to the world.
