Papuan Community Leader, Esau Tegai Supports MBG Program to Create Strong Generation

Papua – Papuan Community Leader, Esau Tegai, expressed his full support for the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) initiated by the government as one of the strategic efforts in building a healthy, intelligent, and strong young generation of Indonesia, especially in the Papua region. According to Esau, this program has great potential to address the challenges of malnutrition and stunting which are still serious problems in various regions in Papua.
“Basically, as a community leader in Jayapura Regency, I am committed to supporting the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program and overcoming nutritional problems, as a basic step to create a generation of Papuans as a strong next generation and have the potential to become a pillar of progress in Papua for the progress of the nation in order to realize the ideals of the golden Indonesian nation in 2045,” said Esau.
Esau said that his party appreciated the MBG program as a foundation for realizing fair and equitable national development, especially for children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.
“As a community leader, I really appreciate the government, in this case the Indonesian National Nutrition Agency (BGN), which has launched the Free Nutritious Meal program as part of an effort to improve the status of the community, especially children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. This program aims to ensure optimal nutritional fulfillment in Indonesia, especially in Papua, and is the foundation for realizing fair and equitable national development,” said Esau.
The MBG program, which has been running gradually since the beginning of this year, aims to provide free nutritious food to elementary and secondary school children, with a focus on areas with high levels of nutritional vulnerability. Esau sees this as a long-term investment that will have a significant impact on the quality of human resources in Papua.
“Free Nutritious Meal Program for the development of quality human resources in Indonesia, especially in Papua, towards the golden Indonesia in 2045 and creating a healthy and intelligent generation that is globally competitive, through strong collaboration between the government, society and the private sector. It is hoped that all program targets can be achieved and have a positive impact on national development,” explained Esau.
