One of the civilians was reported to have been shot dead by the Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) in Puncak Jaya, Papua.
Regarding this matter, the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of the Papua Regional Police (Polda), Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo said that the shooting occurred when the victim, 35 year old Germanto Simanjuntak, was at his own kiosk. in Pruleme Village, Mulia District, Puncak Jaya.
According to the statement given by the victim’s wife, at that time the victim was having dinner and heard the sound of an unknown person knocking on his stall which was actually closed.
It turned out that the person who knocked was the perpetrator who was a member of KST Papua, claiming that he wanted to buy cigarettes.
Obviously the victim thought that it was a customer so he opened the kiosk again which was actually closed.
However, after the door was opened, the perpetrator immediately pointed a gun and opened fire directly at the victim.
As a result of the shots fired by KST Papua, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right jaw.
After firing the shot, the perpetrator immediately ran away, while the victim’s wife immediately tried to seek help to take Germanto to the Mulia Hospital.
In fact, in this incident, the security forces themselves had moved quickly and swiftly, and the Puncak Jaya Sector Police (Polsek) immediately took the victim to the Mulia Regional General Hospital (RSUD) for treatment.
However, it turned out that after the treatment process, the victim was declared dead.
Furthermore, as a result of this incident, the Puncak Jaya Police are now immediately trying to increase the intensity of patrols around Kota Mulia and are also conducting further investigation into the shooting case, which is currently still under investigation.
It is clear that all the actions carried out by the separatist gangs in Bumi Cenderawasih are actions that do not reflect human nature and are also incidents that make many people sad, especially in many cases of violence that they carry out which continues to cause casualties among civilians who are actually the same. completely innocent.
Of course, after this incident, the security forces did not remain silent and were strongly committed to disclosing, pursuing and arresting the perpetrators so that they could be dealt with strictly according to the regulations in force in Indonesia.
Many parties condemn very strongly the actions carried out by separatist and terrorist groups in Papua, which have continued to spread acts of terror and acts of provocation so that they must be responded to very strongly.
