Papuan People Reject KST
Claims of struggle that are often echoed by the Separatist and Terrorism Group (KST) to recruit Indigenous Papuans do not seem to have a significant impact. Because the Papuan people are aware that KST is just a group that likes to terrorize in order to spread threats.
KST Papua does not represent the struggle, moreover the actions they took actually resulted in the destruction of public facilities and the loss of the lives of the Papuan people. Sure enough, many victims have fallen, ranging from officers to civilians.
No wonder the Papuan people actually reject the existence of KST, because various causes have led to riots. Several youth and community organizations that are members of the Papuan community component in Jayapura have stated that they expressly reject the presence of the Free Papua Organization (OPM).
The Papuan community component has stated that OPM or KST do not even hesitate to kill the lives of fellow Papuans. Chairman II of the Sairery Indigenous Youth, Ali Kabiay said that what KST is calling the current struggle is not purely defending the Papuan people. The efforts made by the separatist group are also considered old-fashioned.
Apart from Ali Kabiyai, a number of Papuan figures also called for the same thing, including the chairman of the Barisan Merah Putih Papua Province, Max Abner Ohee, chairman of GERCIN Rudi Samori and several other young Papuan figures. Before they read out the declaration against OPM or KST, they also held a discussion on the history of Papua’s integration within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Ali said that he has many friends with native Papuan children who are currently living abroad. They no longer want to be busy with Papuan independence activities, because they feel that they are independent as individuals and are enjoying life and trying to compete in an economic war.
The following are declarations submitted by various components of society, namely the traditional and youth components:
First, Reject all forms of separatist movement in the land of Papua, through armed movements which have claimed many victims and asked the security forces, both the TNI and Polri, to pursue and take legal action against the perpetrators.
Second, strongly condemn all acts of violence committed by armed criminal groups in Papua which seem very old-fashioned, because war in this modern era is not a physical war but an economic war. Where each region struggles and fights to improve its economy, therefore it strongly condemns all acts of violence by KST in Papua.
Third, fully support the implementation of the Special Autonomy Law Number 2 of 2022 and accelerate the acceleration of development in the land of Papua.
Fourth, fully support the acceleration of the expansion of new autonomous regions in the Land of Papua for better welfare and services for the benefit of the Papuan people.
Meanwhile, recently KST Papua officials have also frequently appeared on social media to convey messages to the Indonesian government. Not infrequently, KST Papua officials actually disseminate information to their subordinates through videos on social media. However, the message from the KST officials turned out to be a blunder.
The reason is, through these messages, KST Papua officials will indirectly provide important information to the TNI-Polri. One of them is what General KST did.
When a general intends to provide an analysis after being appointed, the new KST general actually dismantles the boro of his own men. It all started when KST Papua moved quickly to replace Alex Ruyaweri Yessi Makabori. The 3-star General of KST Papua has also realized and has returned to embrace the Red and White.
Rejection of KST had occurred, such as the red and white parade of love for the motherland and statements from the people who rejected KST in Atapo Village, Mimika District, Mimika Regency with the theme “One Row for Indonesia”. The event was chaired by the Commander of Kodim 1710/Mimika Lt. Col. Inf Dedy Dwi Cahyadi.
The red and white march for the love of the country and the statement against KST were joined by leaders, village officials and the community from 7 villages in the West Mimika district, totaling approximately 400 people. In this activity, Lt. Col. Dedy invited the community to continue to join hands and unite to always maintain the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Participants who took part in the parade used boats and wore a number of distinctive red and white attributes with the starting point at the Kokonao River and finishing at the Atapo Village Pier. The community seemed very enthusiastic in participating in these activities.
KST also did not get sympathy from the public, because they once forced residents to raise the Morning Star flag on December 1, which coincided with OPM’s birthday. The people who live in Papua suddenly reject the invitation because they are still loyal to Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
