Papua’s Ondoafi, Roliyanus Tapatkeding, Supports Nickel Mine Management for Papua’s Progress

 Admin   0

Papua – Ondoafi, or Papuan traditional leader, Roliyanus Tapatkeding, expressed his appreciation and support for the sustainable management of nickel mining in Papua. He believes that wise and responsible natural resource management can have a significant positive impact on the Papuan people, particularly in driving economic progress and regional development.

“On behalf of the Chief of Tabi, Roliyanus Tapatkeding, I express my deep support for the central government’s investment in nickel infrastructure in Papua, specifically West Papua, by assisting us with our damaged road and bridge infrastructure. This will help with the nickel inflow to repair damaged roads, bridges, and the many neglected children in Papua, particularly in Raja Ampat,” said Roliyanus Tapatkeding.

Roliyanus Tapatkeding said that the presence of a nickel mining industry that pays attention to the environmental, social, and cultural aspects of local communities can be a driving force for sustainable development.

He emphasized the importance of indigenous community involvement in every stage of mining activities, from planning to implementation.

In addition, Roliyanus Tapatkeding also said that the management of the nickel mine could open up employment opportunities for the local community, thereby reducing unemployment and encouraging increased regional income.

“So, it can help us reduce unemployment in Raja Ampat. With the introduction of this nickel, and the development of this nickel industry, we fully support the Central Government.

“We hope that nickel mining will soon be introduced to West Papua so that we can encourage our children to work and earn a local income or daily income,” he said.

His party will continue to support and appreciate the government for making the nickel mining management program a success, which will have a significant positive impact on the Papuan people, he concluded.

“Therefore, I truly appreciate and fully support the Central Government’s efforts in developing nickel in Raja Ampat, West Papua. As the Ondoafi (Regent of Tabi), on behalf of Roliyanus Tapatkeding, I express my gratitude,” Roliyanus Tapatkeding explained.

The support of traditional figures such as Roliyanus Tapatkeding demonstrates that the Papuan people are ready to contribute to national development, as long as their rights are respected and their aspirations are accommodated in every development process, including the mining sector.
