Jakarta – The government continues to strengthen its commitment to providing equitable access to education through the People’s School Program, initiated by Prabowo Subianto. This program is designed to reach children from underprivileged families and vulnerable groups who have not had optimal access to formal education.

President Prabowo stated that this program is a strategic step by the state to ensure the future of the younger generation.
“This boarding school is intended for those who may have previously had no hope, children from disadvantaged families,” explained President Prabowo.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) affirmed its full support for the program, particularly in academic aspects and learning governance. The People’s School is a boarding school concept to ensure a more focused and comprehensive educational process.

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti emphasized that this program has been implemented in accordance with the national curriculum and has provided tangible benefits.
“Academically, People’s Schools have been implemented in accordance with the curriculum prepared by the government and have truly provided significant benefits for students from underprivileged families,” he said.

People’s Schools implement a multi-entry and multi-exit curriculum approach to accommodate diverse learning needs. Teachers are also provided with special training to make learning more adaptive and oriented towards character building.

Furthermore, People’s Schools are expected to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students. With a boarding system, students receive not only formal education but also character development, discipline, and life skills relevant to future challenges.

The Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education collaborates with the Ministry of Social Affairs to strengthen human resource capacity, including providing training for school principals and assigning professional teachers who have graduated from the Teacher Professional Education (PPG).

“People’s Schools are a place for the younger generation to grow and develop into part of a great nation,” emphasized Abdul Mu’ti.

Going forward, the government ensures that this program will be aligned with the national education system and serve as a strategic instrument in breaking the cycle of poverty through education and realizing social justice.
