Sleman – Plt. Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono said that his party was very open to working with any party regarding support for the presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 election.
PPP is very open in the 2024 election contestation, including in supporting the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential candidacy. With the dynamics of national politics currently running very dynamically, we are ready to cooperate with internal and external parties for common goals for progress and mutual benefit, said Plt. PPP Chairman Muhamad Mardiono during the V National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) in Sleman Yogyakarta, Tuesday 25/4/2023.
Even though PPP is part of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB), it will not interfere with PPP’s choices or political stance in supporting one of the presidential candidates, said M. Mardiono.
There will only be one name that will be announced by the acting chairman of PPP, Muhamad Mardiono in Yogyakarta. Apart from discussing the support for presidential candidates and coalitions, the Rapimnas also discussed preparations for prospective legislative candidates.
In Rapimnas V PPP also ensures the preparation of all PPP cadres in facing the 2024 Election contestation, both administratively and technically, said M.Mardiono.
In addition, what is of concern to the DPP is preparing Legislative Candidates (Bacaleg) from the levels of the DPR RI, DPD, Provincial DPRD, to Regency/City DPRD so that PPP is able to reclaim victory and glory, concluded Plt. Head of PPP.
Furthermore, according to him, cadres who have prepared themselves to advance as members of the legislature, are expected to also prepare themselves carefully.
In legislative contests, the DPP is also open to the regions to nominate their candidates, which in essence will be reviewed or studied first by the DPP team. If it is felt that it meets the requirements and has a noble purpose, then we will fully support it, added M. Mardiono
On the same occasion, PPP Secretary General Arwani Thomafi said that
all cadres must understand that apart from preparing legislative candidates from the DPR RI to DPRD levels, we must also prepare presidential and cawapres candidates.
PPP, which is currently part of the United Indonesia Coalition, must take strategic steps so as not to lose momentum in supporting the presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 elections, concluded the Secretary General of PPP.
