Prabowo’s Global Diplomacy Marks Historic Achievements for Indonesia

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s visits to several countries have resulted in various historic achievements that strengthen Indonesia’s position.

Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana, an academic and international law observer from the University of Indonesia, believes that President Prabowo Subianto’s recent visits to several countries have improved Indonesia’s image on the global stage.

“So, the world is getting to know Indonesia better, and he (President Prabowo), when he meets with world leaders, has both formal and informal aspects. This demonstrates the close relationship between him and world leaders,” said Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana.

President Prabowo also emphasized that all these meetings resulted in strategic progress, both in terms of investment, trade, food security, technology, and strengthening Indonesia’s geopolitics on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Eddy Soeparno, said that President Prabowo Subianto’s diplomatic visit brought strategic agreements and had a positive impact on Indonesia, like rowing two agreements at once.

“This diplomatic visit is like striking two deals in one go: the IEU-CEPA with the European Union and a tariff reduction with the United States (US) of 19 percent, down from the previous 32 percent,” Eddy said.

This, he added, was proof that the visit was not just an overseas visit, but more than that, it was a series of diplomatic strategies that President Prabowo had prepared.

Eddy believes that President Prabowo’s diplomatic steps are on track with the tariff agreement and the agreement with the European Union.

“Moreover, the President also stated that he will continue to strive to reduce tariffs to 0 percent,” he explained.

Eddy also believes that the diplomatic strategy that has been running well will be accompanied by President Prabowo’s economic policy, which has consistently emphasized that no group is left behind.

On the other hand, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia, Tamsil Linrung, said that the President’s presence to fight for the nation’s interests at the BRICS Summit, the European Union, and the tariff agreement with Donald Trump, marked a new chapter in foreign policy spearheaded by the President in the multipolar era.

“President Prabowo has succeeded in bringing Indonesia back to play a significant role in shaping international relations,” Tamsil concluded.
