President Opens ISF 2024 Brilliantly, Stressing Climate Change Issues Need Humanitarian Approach
Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially opened the 2024 Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta.
In his opening speech, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that collaboration and a humanitarian approach were needed to solve the problem of climate change.
According to Jokowi, Indonesia is ready to partner with anyone to encourage inclusive and advanced economic growth.
A number of world leaders from various sectors attended the event. ISF 2024, which was opened by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, carried the theme Towards Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.
On the occasion of the opening of the ISF, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan expressed his gratitude to President Jokowi who fully supported the ISF event.
Previously, Luhut said that the 2024 ISF was expected to produce several new ideas that could be followed up.
“We want to make the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum an annual agenda, an annual agenda that we hope will produce various kinds of ideas that can be followed up,” said Luhut.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) Rachmat Kaimuddin said that the 2024 ISF would be the second largest sustainability event in the Asia Pacific.
“From the participant side, it will be the second largest sustainability or climate related event in Asia Pacific after COP 29 in Azerbaijan,” said Rachmat.
The ISF forum highlights five pillars of discussion, namely green economy, energy transition, biodiversity and nature conservation, sustainable living, and blue economy.
The ISF 2024 Forum is an official event for the Indonesian Government for world leaders from various sectors and countries to exchange ideas and knowledge while providing solutions and best practices in dealing with climate change.
The grand event which lasted for two days included a number of agendas starting from the main session presenting keynote speakers, Plenary, Thematic, High Level Dialogue, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing, Exhibition, to Gala Dinner.
