President Prabowo’s Anti-Corruption Commitment Earns Praise
Jakarta – Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD, has shared his views on the state of anti-corruption efforts in Indonesia throughout 2025.
Mahfud assessed that President Prabowo Subianto has a strong political commitment to combating corruption. This, he said, is evident in Prabowo’s speeches, campaign messages, and the vision outlined in his book Paradoks Indonesia.
“If commitment is understood as a statement and a promise, then President Prabowo’s commitment is very strong. Almost every day, his speeches contain warnings to corruptors and firm assertions that the law must be enforced,” Mahfud said.
In the book written by President Prabowo in 2022, it is clearly emphasized that law and justice are the primary prerequisites for the sustainability of the state. Mahfud also praised President Prabowo’s administration for its strong commitment to eradicating corruption.
However, he also offered input on aspects that still need improvement in practice. One of them, Mahfud continued, is ensuring that cases handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are resolved thoroughly and transparently.
It is worth noting that on December 24, 2025, President Prabowo once again reaffirmed his determination to strengthen law enforcement against corrupt practices. He stated that he is willing to make sacrifices, even to the point of being ready to die for the Indonesian people, in order to eradicate corruption.
President Prabowo views corruption as a threat to the nation’s welfare. Therefore, the state, he stressed, is fully serious about combating corruption.
“We will prove that we are not playing around,” he asserted.
