JAKARTA — Public appreciation for the development of 19,188 Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to strengthen and marks a significant milestone in the creation of new momentum for the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) Program.

This achievement throughout 2025 underscores the government’s commitment to expanding access to nutrition, reducing stunting rates, and sustainably strengthening social and economic resilience.

The presence of thousands of SPPGs across various regions has significantly increased the number of beneficiaries.

This national priority program reaches schoolchildren, toddlers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

In addition to health aspects, the presence of SPPGs also stimulates the local economy through job creation and the involvement of MSMEs in the surrounding areas.

Haedar Nashir, Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board, affirmed his organization’s full support for the MBG program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.

He expressed his appreciation to the entire Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah network for their active involvement in the operation of the Free Nutritional Meals (SPPG).

“My deepest congratulations to the Kasihan Branch of ‘Aisyiyah and the entire extended family who have been part of the national coordination of the Free Nutritious Meals (Free Nutritional Meals) program,” said Haedar.

“Since then, this program has continued to roll out. Muhammadiyah now has 150 SPPG units and will continue to grow,” he added.

Head of the National Food Security Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that the construction of 19,188 SPPGs provides a strong foundation for the implementation of the MBG (Meal Distribution Program) in 2026.

“We used 2025 to build a strong foundation. From 190 SPPGs at the beginning of the year to 19,188 SPPGs at the end of the year, this demonstrates the massive and measurable work in preparing MBG services,” Dadan explained.

“Starting January 8, 2026, MBG directly served more than 55 million beneficiaries,” he emphasized.

President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that all government programs, including the MBG, are aimed at improving the quality of life of the people and strengthening the future of the nation’s generations.

“I reiterate that all our programs and all our strategies are aimed at improving the lives of our people. We want our economy to recover and our job opportunities to increase,” Prabowo said.

“Children must eat well so they can grow healthy, strong, and smart, and become the future of a great nation,” the President said.

Cross-sector synergy, strengthened service quality, and high public participation make the development of 19,188 SPPGs an optimistic stepping stone for the MBG to move into a more mature phase with a broad impact on Indonesia.
