Public Support for the TNI and Polri Ensures Democracy Without Anarchy
Jakarta – Mario, Coordinator of the People’s Alliance for the Nation (ARPN), stated that the public will never waver in their support for the TNI and Polri. This was conveyed during a peaceful demonstration held around the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout in Jakarta. According to him, the demonstration is clear evidence that the people remain behind state officials, especially the TNI and Polri.
“The issue of a rift in relations between the two institutions is simply cheap propaganda to weaken the nation’s defense. If anyone says the TNI and Polri are enemies, that’s a complete lie. Today we prove it: the people remain with the state officials,” said Mario.
He also believes that national stability and state sovereignty can never be maintained without solidarity within the TNI and Polri. Therefore, he asked the public not to be easily provoked by issues that attempt to pit the two institutions against each other.
“Never give space to those who want to weaken national unity. We believe the TNI and Polri are solid and strongly committed to protecting the people,” he emphasized.
According to Mario, the peaceful demonstration was not merely a demonstration, but also a moral message to all parties that the people are ready to stand side by side with the authorities in maintaining national unity. He said the presence of thousands of peaceful protesters voicing their support symbolized the unity between the people and state officials.
“The synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the people is the nation’s true bulwark. If we stand united, any provocation will be defeated,” he continued.
ARPN believes that in the current democratic era, differences of opinion are normal, but they should not be expressed in anarchic ways that threaten national stability. Therefore, full support for the TNI and Polri is crucial as pillars ensuring security and order are maintained.
Mario emphasized that the people, along with the TNI and Polri, share the same goal: to safeguard the nation’s integrity from all forms of provocation and threats.
“Today we demonstrate that the people cannot be divided. Together with the TNI and Polri, we ensure that democracy in this country runs peacefully, without anarchy,” he concluded.
With this message, ARPN called on all elements of society to remain united, maintain unity, and reject all forms of provocation that could potentially cause division.
The peaceful demonstration held by ARPN proceeded orderly and without any violent incidents. Their presence also reinforced the message that democracy in Indonesia must proceed peacefully, without violence or division.
