Puan Maharani Nyatakan Siap Jika Kembali Dipilih sebagai Ketua DPR RI – News

Jakarta – The 19th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) is currently underway in Jakarta, marking a significant step in strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries. In this prestigious forum, the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) serves as both the host and an active leader in fostering inter-parliamentary synergy among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Speaker of the House, Puan Maharani, expressed her gratitude for the presence of delegates from various Islamic countries and emphasized the importance of parliamentary collaboration in collectively addressing global challenges.
“This is a great honor for Indonesia. The DPR RI warmly welcomes all delegates from our fellow nations,” said Puan.

She noted that Indonesia’s status as the country with the world’s largest Muslim population carries both a moral and strategic responsibility to lead discourse at the Islamic world level.
“Hosting the PUIC is not merely about organizing an event — it is a tangible expression of Indonesia’s leadership in strengthening solidarity among the parliaments of the Islamic world,” she asserted.

Puan added that this conference provides a vital platform to showcase a democratic, inclusive, and solution-oriented face of Islam.
“PUIC 2025 is a strategic momentum for Indonesia to assert its role as a driving force in Islamic diplomacy — one that unites differences and offers concrete solutions,” she explained.

The attendance of parliamentary leaders from across the Islamic world is also seen as a positive signal of international trust in Indonesia’s diplomacy.
“This forum will serve as a cross-border space for solution-based diplomacy, reinforcing OIC cooperation in addressing global challenges and upholding humanitarian values,” said Puan.

Beyond hosting the forum with hospitality, the Indonesian Parliament is also emphasizing substance. Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee (BKSAP) of the DPR RI, Mardani Ali Sera, highlighted the importance of this year’s conference theme: Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience.
“We aim to show that we are not only gracious hosts but also contributors to global dialogue through best practices in governance and institution-building,” said Mardani.

As an inter-legislative body established in 1999 and headquartered in Tehran, the PUIC seeks to enhance cooperation in various strategic areas — from politics to socio-cultural affairs. In this context, the DPR RI is fully utilizing its role to promote dialogue, consensus, and partnerships grounded in the universal values of peaceful and progressive Islam.

The DPR RI’s participation in this forum reflects the image of a proactive and adaptive parliament on the global stage. Amid ongoing geopolitical dynamics and complex humanitarian issues, Indonesia — through its Parliament — has successfully positioned itself as a pioneer of Islamic parliamentary diplomacy, serving as a relevant and inspiring model for the Muslim world.
