JATINANGOR – Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya, officially opened the second batch of the regional leaders’ retreat held at the campus of the Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) in Jatinangor, West Java, on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

In his opening remarks, Bima Arya emphasized that the retreat serves as an orientation to strengthen the spirit of service and dedication among regional leaders in public service.

“We hope that Governors, Deputy Governors, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Regents, and Deputy Regents participating in this retreat will grow stronger in unity amid diversity. We want them to feel proud to be public servants of the archipelago,” Bima Arya stated.

The second batch of the retreat carries the same goals as the previous session: to encourage regional heads to perform their core duties and responsibilities more effectively. The event also aims to align national government programs with local policies.

“This retreat is meant to deepen regional leaders’ understanding of President Prabowo’s grand vision, serving as a guiding framework for regional development in harmony with national priorities. It’s about understanding, implementing, and accelerating the Asta Cinta programs,” he added.

Bima Arya further explained that IPDN was chosen as the venue due to its significant contribution to preparing dedicated public administrators. To date, over 34,800 IPDN alumni have been deployed across Indonesia and are actively serving communities.

“This campus prepares cadets to become part of society, to think and act entirely for the public interest,” he said.

“For that reason, with pride, the Ministry of Home Affairs has chosen this proud campus to host the second batch of the retreat—driven by the same spirit of service and dedication, with shared hopes and goals,” Bima continued.

A total of 86 out of 93 regional leaders registered for this retreat are participating. Six were unable to attend due to health reasons, while one, the Governor of Highland Papua, John Tabo, was absent due to the recent passing of his mother.

The retreat will be held over five days, from June 22 to 26, 2025. The program includes a series of activities designed to strengthen collaboration and leadership among regional heads in order to enhance the quality of public service delivery in their respective regions.
