Security Forces Continue to Intensify Patrols in Anticipation of Post-Election Public Security and Order Disorders
The security forces of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) continue to intensify various types of patrols to anticipate possible disturbances to security and order in community areas (kamtibmas) and create a conducive situation after the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
Even though the democratic celebrations and political contestation in the General Election (Pemilu) have been completed since February 2024, in reality there is still some potential or possibility of security and order disturbances in society.
Therefore, the security forces (apkam) continue to intensify various kinds of patrol efforts in order to anticipate so that potential disturbances to social security and order do not occur and the situation in the community remains in a conducive condition.
In carrying out these patrols, the security forces carried out a direct mandate from the Indonesian Government through the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Marshal (Purn) Hadi Tjahjanto who instructed that after the election the atmosphere in society remained conducive.
There was a closed meeting with all levels of security forces, namely the Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan, Commander of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto, Chief of Presidential Staff ( KSP) Moeldoko, Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian and also Attorney General ST Burhanudin.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia said that there may still be some problems, even though they are small, it is still appropriate to continue to make security forces alert and alert regarding potential disruptions to social security and order after the 2024 elections.
Therefore, the Government continues to strive to anticipate potential disturbances in security and public order with the assistance of security forces from all levels including the TNI, Polri, intelligence agencies such as BIN and the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) who also continue to be on standby to maintain a conducive situation after the end of the war. the democratic party event.
These anticipatory efforts aim to prevent and secure so that the potential for social security and order disturbances or escalations in the community does not become wider and more widespread.
Responding to the seriousness of all levels of security forces, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Ahmad Sahroni assessed that indeed the entire General Election (Pemilu) process until after the implementation of the political contestation in Indonesia was running very conducively.
Moreover, if, for example, there were a comparison between how the 2024 election event would be and the previous democratic party event in Indonesia. It is clearly very different in terms of the conduciveness that occurs. All of this success cannot be separated from the role of the security forces of the joint TNI, Polri and BIN forces in ensuring the situation on the ground.
So far, the security forces have continued to maintain their solidity and also continue to pay attention to the humanistic side in their actions in the field, therefore the situation in society has been managed in a conducive manner.
This is also in line with the assurance from the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who stated that the condition of stability of security and order in society (kamtibmas) in the 2024 Election until after the voting continues to be under control compared to the 2019 General Election where there were many riots.
Not only is it an indicator of the success of the security forces, but the conduciveness created during the election process until after the political contestation is also a sign that society is now experiencing increased maturity in democracy.
For this reason, very high appreciation should be expressed to the ranks of the joint forces security forces who continue to tirelessly intensify dialogue patrols and all kinds of things to anticipate any disruption to social security and order after the General Election.
All actions taken by security forces in order to maintain conducive conditions in society are full of very careful calculations and nothing happens that is out of control.
All parties have worked optimally, starting from the preparations to the implementation of the General Election, then continuing to monitor the conduciveness of social security and order even after the General Election. Without exception, all levels of security forces have also followed the instructions they received from their respective leaders very well.
Why is it very important to maintain peace and security and continue to run conducive social security even after the election? This is because the General Election itself is a very sacred event in a country that upholds the principles of democracy like Indonesia, so it certainly requires extra security.
By intensifying various types of patrols, even at night, including establishing direct dialogue efforts with the community and religious leaders at the grass roots, efforts to anticipate disruptions to social security and order after the 2024 election from the security forces are running very smoothly.
