Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal Officially Operates, Increases Congregation Comfort and Services
TANGERANG – Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is now officially functioning as a special terminal for hajj and umrah pilgrims. The inauguration of this terminal was carried out directly by President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday (4/5/2025) in Tangerang City, Banten. This step emphasizes the government’s commitment to providing increasingly comfortable and integrated worship service facilities for Indonesian pilgrims.
President Prabowo Subianto expressed his high appreciation to all parties who have supported the revitalization of Terminal 2F into a special terminal.
“I welcome and express my highest appreciation and appreciation for the policies and efforts of all parties involved in this revitalization,” said President Prabowo.
He also highlighted the importance of this special terminal considering the number of hajj and umrah pilgrims from Indonesia which continues to increase every year.
“Our citizens in one year can approach 2.2 million pilgrims, and at its peak it can reach 12 thousand people per day. This is something big, maybe we are the biggest in the world,” said President Prabowo.
Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, welcomed the existence of exclusive services at Terminal 2F.
He considered that the facility would improve the quality of service and comfort of the pilgrims.
“With the existence of a special Hajj and Umrah terminal, of course it will improve services to the pilgrims, so that the journey becomes more comfortable and it is hoped that the pilgrims can be more devout in worship,” said Dudy.
Terminal 2F covers an area of 27,400 m² with a capacity of up to 6.1 million passengers per year. Equipped with 20 check-in counters, an Umrah lounge that can accommodate 3,000 people, as well as a mosque and special parking area, this terminal is designed to optimally support the mobility of pilgrims.
“For this year’s hajj departures, it will be served by three airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia, Saudi Airlines, and Lion Air. We hope that through Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the departure of the hajj, especially for pilgrims from Jakarta and its surroundings, will be smoother,” he added.
Tangerang Mayor, Sachrudin, also expressed his gratitude for the presence of this new facility in his area.
“Alhamdulillah, after we have the Hajj Dormitory in Cipondoh, now prospective hajj and umrah pilgrims have their worship made easier with the presence of a special airport terminal for hajj and umrah at Terminal 2F,” said Sachrudin.
He emphasized that the existence of Terminal 2F complements the worship infrastructure in Tangerang City.
“Hopefully this will provide more benefits and advantages for the people of Tangerang City, especially pilgrims who will perform the hajj and umrah in the Holy Land,” concluded Sachrudin.
The inauguration of Terminal 2F is not just a symbol of physical progress in infrastructure, but reflects the government’s commitment to improving the quality of religious services. The presence of this terminal is an affirmation that public services that are friendly to worship are now increasingly felt by the people. [^]
