Jakarta – In a historic and meaningful move, Pope Francis made a historic visit to Indonesia, starting his series of activities today by visiting the Istiqlal Mosque and visiting the Silaturahmi Tunnel that connects the Istiqlal Mosque and the Cathedral Church. This visit is a strong symbol of the efforts of interfaith dialogue and peace carried out by the leader of the Catholic Church. Upon arrival at the location, Pope Francis was seen amazed by the existence of the Silaturahmi Tunnel. In his speech, he expressed his hope that this tunnel can be a place for dialogue in the spirit of friendship and harmony. “I pray to God the creator of all things that he bless all those who pass through all who pass through this tunnel in the spirit of friendship, harmony and brotherhood. The Pope also highlighted the challenges facing society, stating that if there is a threat of a dark future, all must unite to fight it. “Encouragement on a journey together in friendship that leads us towards the light. After visiting the Istiqlal Mosque, Pope Francis continued his series of activities by holding a Grand Mass at the Bung Karno Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, which was attended by thousands of Catholics from all over the country. This Grand Mass was the highlight of his visit, with the theme “Peace for the World, Peace for Indonesia”.
