Many parties strongly condemn the series of heinous acts that continue to be carried out by KST Papua, of which the percentage has recently been steadily increasing. The security forces are encouraged to immediately crush them and take firm action.
It is known that on February 7 2023, an aircraft from the Susi Air airline with flight number SI 9368 was burned by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) in Nduga , Papua. the brutal action carried out by KST Papua, namely in the form of assault and arson, took place at Paro Airport.
Then it was not just the assault and arson that was carried out by them, but it turned out that the heinous action took place, namely the KST Papua took hostage to the Pilot Captain named Phillips Max Mehrtens , who is a man of New Zealand nationality.
In fact, until now, after about 2 (two) months, the Susi Air Pilot Captain has still not been released by KST Papua. Regarding this matter, the Head of the Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Mathius Fahiri , stated that he is currently trying various ways so that the pilot can be released safe and sound.
Rescue efforts and also the search for the Captain Pilot were also carried out by the security forces by cooperating with and involving many parties at once, including community leaders, especially in Nduga Regency .
Inspector General Mathius stated that his party continues to use a persuasive approach which hopes to be able to negotiate with KST Papua to release the hostages, so that rescue efforts can be carried out without any significant disturbances.
On another occasion , it turns out that KST Papua will also be carrying out very heinous actions in the near future. The reason is, they attacked a member of the Indonesian Army National Army (TNI AD) to death after being involved in a gun battle in the Nduga region , Papua Mountains on Monday, April 3, 2023.
The Commander of Korem 172/PWY, Brigadier General JO Sembiring in his written statement said that there had indeed been gunfire between the KST group and Yalal Yonif R 321/GT/13/1 Kostrad Post Soldiers , which from the firing resulted in 1 (one ) TNI soldiers were shot and died, on behalf of Pratu H.
Meanwhile, the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), said that based on research data , the percentage of attacks and atrocities that continue to be carried out by KST Papua has actually increased. He said that in 2021 towards 2022 alone there had been an increase of up to 35 percent. So he emphasized that of course this must be resolved.
According to the B NPT , the issue of security disturbances by armed criminal groups (KKB) or Separatist and Terrorist Groups (KST) will become a disturbance to national security. Meanwhile, the acts of violence they committed met the criteria for acts of terrorism based on Law (UU) Number 5 of 2020 concerning the Eradication of Acts of Terrorism.
On the same occasion, the Chancellor of Jenderal Achmad Yani University, Prof. Hikmahanto Juwana , said security disturbances by KST Papua must be immediately addressed through law enforcement measures. And law enforcement, according to him, must use the Terrorism Law.
How could it not be, because the Chancellor considered that KST Papua had the goal of being able to create an atmosphere of terror against people at large, because of that the security forces had to be able to use the Terrorism Law to take action against them.
Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party DPP, Fahri Hamzah stated, there is a problem of the narrative distance between Jakarta and Papua that must be resolved. He conveyed that the government and other elements would never remain silent in resolving this matter. Because KST Papua is indeed based on a unilateral nationalist ideology, it must be resolved immediately.
With so many acts of atrocities continuing to increase, Papuan community leaders themselves criticized KST Papua very harshly. The head of the Mimika Community Early Warning Forum , Lucky Mahaneka , deeply regretted that this unfortunate incident occurred.
Therefore, according to Lucky, the entire security apparatus consisting of joint TNI and Polri personnel must be able to attend and crush them. He also invited the local government along with religious leaders and community leaders to participate in building communication with KST Papua using a persuasive approach.
KST Papua has never stopped committing heinous acts and has even continued to increase from time to time. Therefore, many parties are checking hard on various kinds of heinous acts committed by them and urging the security forces to immediately take firm action.
