JAKARTA – Full support for the security forces’ strong commitment to uncovering efforts to manipulate negative public opinion continues to grow from various parties, especially the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Moreover, this occurred after the confession of the defendant Marcella Santoso who admitted her involvement in efforts to spread provocative narratives that have been circulating in society with the theme of Dark Indonesia and the Revision of the TNI Law.
The Indonesian National Armed Forces Headquarters (Mabes TNI) emphasized its full support for the Attorney General’s Office and all law enforcement officers who are currently investigating the network of disseminators of this misleading information.
Mabes TNI also supports a thorough investigation into the circulation of content that attacks state institutions and high-ranking officials.
“The TNI will always support the firm steps of law enforcement officers,” said the Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General TNI Kristomei Sianturi,
“Any form of action that can divide public trust, damage the image of state institutions, or disrupt national stability, will be faced with a professional, measured attitude, and based on the law,” he added.
He added that the TNI is committed to strengthening synergy with all ranks of the security forces such as the police, prosecutors, and other agencies to ensure that law enforcement can run transparently and accountably.
“We fully support the disclosure of the flow of funds, the buzzer network, and any party involved,” said Kristomei.
The Director of Investigation at the Attorney General’s Office Abdul Qohar stated that investigators managed to find digital traces containing conversations related to efforts to spread the narrative of Dark Indonesia and the TNI Bill from the electronic evidence of the suspects.
“Because there is electronic evidence, we ask, what did he mean by creating Dark Indonesia content, negative content? What is the connection with the TNI Bill, we don’t know, but those who know are the people involved,” he said.
The TNI also called for vigilance to all levels of society so that they are not easily influenced by baseless opinions that continue to circulate and can trigger public unrest.
Kristomei emphasized that his party is strongly committed to realizing national stability through full support for law enforcement in Indonesia.
“The TNI ensures that it will continue to support every law enforcement effort in order to realize national stability,” he said.
