Jakarta – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) plays a role in providing accurate weather information to support the smooth running of the International Sustainability Forum (ISF) which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), 5-6 September 2024.
In a coordination meeting of the International Sustainability Forum with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Acting Head of BMKG, Dwikorita Karnawati said that positive weather predictions are expected to support smooth and safe implementation activities.
“Based on our data on that date, the weather was sunny to partly cloudy, although there were anomalies that could change,” he said.
Dwikorita also emphasized BMKG’s commitment to continue supporting the entire series of the International Sustainability Forum. As an anticipatory effort so that the event runs smoothly and safely, BMKG will prepare a Weather Modification Operation.
“We are ready to fully support, we also invite related parties to visit the BMKG headquarters, where we will show complete and accurate data,” he said.
Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Unit, Lasiran, ensured the reliability of electricity for the ISF visit and Pope Francis’ visit.
In the context of the Pope and ISF’s visit, we have prepared sufficient power reserves in Jakarta. We have reserves of around 3,800 or 34 percent of the reserves. So the system is sufficient,” said Lasiran,
He explained that power usage reached 8,919 MW and peak load of 5,882 MW.
Therefore, his party has prepared as many as 4 special standby posts in several strategic locations close to the event venue. Lasiran said that PLN is ready to provide the best service to make the various events a success.
“PLN is committed to providing the best service, especially in supporting the success of international scale events such as Pope Francis’ visit and ISF 2024,” he explained.
