Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s administration remains committed to expanding access to the creative economy to enhance public welfare.

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar, emphasized that the government has prepared strategic agendas to strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives.

“There are many pressing issues that need immediate attention, one of which is establishing a unified data system to ensure targeted assistance. The government is also promoting synergy between large businesses and SMEs,” said Muhaimin.

To support the creative economy sector, the government will expand financing access for SMEs, cooperatives, and migrant workers through low-interest loan schemes.

“We are initiating a low-interest savings and loan model, which will be coordinated with relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Finance,” he added.

As part of the 100-day milestone of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, the government has strengthened its commitment to fostering collaboration between education and industry in support of the creative economy.

One concrete step is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Indonesia (UI) and the Ministry of Creative Economy.

UI Rector, Heri Hermansyah, welcomed the partnership. “Through our vocational study programs, UI is ready to support the development of creative and innovative human resources,” he stated.

Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, affirmed that collaboration with academia is a crucial step in realizing President Prabowo’s vision.

“President Prabowo has set the creative economy as a key driver of the national economy. Synergy with educational institutions like UI will have a tangible impact on society,” he explained.

The government has also launched the “Creative Cities” initiative, leveraging local potential to create an inclusive creative ecosystem.

In November 2024, the Ministry of Creative Economy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, will roll out a program to create job opportunities and strengthen the local economy.

“The government continues to build creative spaces in various regions to serve as hubs for collaboration between the government, businesses, academics, and creative communities,” concluded Teuku Riefky.

Additionally, the government is working to increase market access for creative economy players, both domestically and internationally.

Digitalization and technology utilization are key factors in ensuring that Indonesian creative products can compete in the global market. Training and mentoring programs for young entrepreneurs are also being enhanced to equip them for the evolving creative industry landscape.

It is hoped that the creative economy will continue to grow and become a pillar of national economic development under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership.
