The Archipelago Student Dormitory Program (AMN) by the State Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BIN RI) continues to provide opportunities for all students from various backgrounds and in remote corners of the nation to get to know each other’s cultural diversity. The younger generation is also encouraged to participate in making the program a success.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that AMN will be a residence for various tribes and regions in Indonesia, where the building is designed to be inhabited by students with different regional backgrounds so that they can get to know each other. other.
Because with the diverse backgrounds of society in Indonesia, if one cannot get to know and respect one another, chaos will of course occur and the potential for conflict to arise will very easily form.
It is different when all the nation’s youth are able to get to know each other, can know each other’s cultural customs and can be harmonious and united side by side, then various kinds of potential disintegration of the nation will also be able to be reduced.
Currently, the student dormitory system is only occupied by students who come from the same province, so they cannot get to know each other with students from other provinces or regions who have different backgrounds.
In fact, in fact, Indonesia is a very large country and has as many as 714 different tribes and this diversity can actually become an extraordinary strength if the people of the country are able to be compact, harmonious and united.
Therefore, why is the Head of State immediately agreeing to BIN’s proposal or initiation to establish AMN in several cities in Indonesia, including those that have been inaugurated, namely in Surabaya and Manado, which will later follow in other cities such as Makassar, Bantul, Malang and Jakarta.
Student Diversity is the Source of National Strength
Academician at Sunan Gunung Djati State Islamic University (UIN SGD) Bandung, Dr H Ading Kusdiana, said that diversity among students is an extraordinary potential. Moreover, if this diversity can be managed well, it will clearly become a source of strength.
However, on the other hand, if the diversity that differs from each other cannot be managed well, it will become a source of conflict and disaster for the nation. For this reason, the implementation of the AMN program initiated by the State Intelligence Agency in order to unite diversity among students is very important.
Because the backgrounds of students are different, whether in terms of ethnicity or tribe, race or class, don’t let these differences in groups give rise to sentiments between one another, which in the end will become a mere source of conflict.
Therefore, this diversity must be able to be managed as a conducive wealth, and each party, in this case the young generation of the nation’s successors among students, must be able to understand each other and respect these differences solidly and in synergy to build the nation together. .
Students at AMN Get National Insight from BIN and Many Parties
The State Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BIN RI) is exploring cooperation with Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat) Manado regarding the succession of development and running of the Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) program in the region.
This collaboration also aims to further develop the values and attitudes of students with an Indonesian insight. The construction of the AMN has also become a symbol of unifying all the nation’s children in Indonesia.
The AMN building itself is a center of activity for students or the nation’s next young generation, both academically and socially, with modern facilities to further support the development of their potential.
The AMN can not only function as a residence for students, but also as an activity center with the best access for them to support improving the quality of young human resources.
To fulfill various activities and coaching and training programs in the AMN building, BIN also works together with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) to manage the building.
Because in reality the development of AMN itself refers to Presidential Decree Number 106 of 2021 which aims to provide a forum for development to strengthen unity and integrity for the younger generation at the tertiary level. So the Nusantara Student Dormitory was initiated by the State Intelligence Agency as a forum to unite students from various ethnicities, languages, cultures and religions from various regions in Indonesia.
The coaching activities in it will also be carried out by various other related stakeholders who carry out government affairs in the education sector together with BIN.
The aim of this coaching is so that they experience increased competence and understanding regarding national insight, citizenship, Pancasila student character, national defense, entrepreneurship, leadership and pioneering.
