The Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) is increasingly demonstrating its identity as one of the most progressive social breakthroughs under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. Through a comprehensive evaluation approach and rapid intervention following a number of technical incidents in the field, President Prabowo has once again demonstrated his responsive, decisive leadership, and a focus on real solutions for the people. The government’s swift action is not only a manifestation of responsibility but also reflects a new leadership style that dares to face problems with a cool head and concrete action.

President Prabowo summoned several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet to his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta. The meeting focused on discussing the progress of various national strategic programs, including the MBG, Village Cooperatives, Fishermen’s Villages, Food and Energy Security, and Economic Stimulus. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya emphasized that the President wants to ensure that all programs are implemented in accordance with the government’s grand vision: building public welfare through integrated, measurable policies that have a direct impact on society.

President Prabowo believes that every state program, especially those that affect the lives of the people, must be implemented with full responsibility and accountability. Therefore, the issuance of a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on the governance of the MBG (National Childhood Education Program) is a strategic step to strengthen the system, clarify operational standards, and ensure there are no loopholes that could disrupt the implementation of this national program. Support for this measure has come from various parties, including the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, who believes a comprehensive evaluation and a new legal framework are urgently needed to optimize the quality of MBG implementation.

The MBG program is truly a manifestation of President Prabowo’s grand vision to develop healthy, intelligent, and resilient Indonesians from an early age. More than just a free meal program, the MBG is a long-term investment in the quality of the nation’s next generation. According to data from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), as of June 2025, this program had reached more than 5.2 million beneficiaries, ranging from preschool children, elementary school children, junior high school students, and high school students, to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. This achievement demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to ensuring that no Indonesian child is left behind due to malnutrition.

The positive impact of this program also extends to the people’s economy. By partnering with local MSMEs, cooperatives, farmers, and fishermen as food suppliers, MBG has revitalized the supply chain in various regions. From remote school kitchens to food production centers in villages, the pulse of the common people’s economy is now increasingly felt. MBG is clear evidence that social policies can go hand in hand with strengthening the people’s economy. This program not only feeds the nation’s children but also provides livelihoods for local economic actors.

In facing challenges such as technical incidents in several regions, President Prabowo demonstrated commendable statesmanship. Rather than blaming specific parties, he immediately took swift action: conducting a comprehensive evaluation, strengthening the certification of food supply kitchens, and tightening the monitoring system. These corrective measures confirm that the Prabowo administration is not merely reactive to problems but is able to use them as an opportunity for learning and system improvement.

Veritas Institute Executive Director, Aldi Tahir, praised President Prabowo’s swift and decisive response to the situation. He stated that the government’s immediate corrective actions reflect responsive and progressive leadership. Aldi believes that the MBG is not just an ordinary social program, but rather a policy breakthrough that unites three major national development agendas: improving public nutrition, equitable distribution of the people’s economy, and strengthening human resources. He also emphasized that politicizing technical issues will only obscure the program’s significant benefits, which are truly a crucial foundation for achieving Golden Indonesia 2045.

Furthermore, Aldi explained that every plate of nutritious food served in schools is the result of the collective work of thousands of people—from farmers and fishermen to MSMEs across the country. This is a tangible manifestation of the spirit of mutual cooperation in national development. The MBG, he said, is a symbol of the state’s concrete presence at the dinner tables of Indonesian children. This program demonstrates that the Prabowo Subianto administration is not resting on its promises but upholding its moral commitment to the future of the nation’s golden generation.

President Prabowo’s swift action in conducting evaluations and interventions proves thatThe MBG program is not merely a populist project, but a visionary policy designed for the long term. By improving the monitoring system, strengthening the management of food pantries, and enforcing national food safety standards, the government ensures that every Indonesian child has the right to safe, quality, nutritious food. This is a concrete manifestation of results-oriented leadership, not rhetoric.

The MBG program has now become a symbol of a new direction for Indonesia’s social development: progressive, inclusive, and equitable. Through President Prabowo’s concrete steps, the MBG program has not only addressed nutrition issues but also strengthened the foundation of the nation’s economic independence. By courageously conducting a comprehensive evaluation, the government has demonstrated that corrections are not a sign of weakness, but rather evidence of mature leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.

In this context, the MBG program deserves to be called a progressive breakthrough during President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. This program weaves synergies between public welfare, local economic empowerment, and the holistic development of Indonesians. Every corrective step, every rapid intervention, and every system improvement implemented demonstrates a new direction for efficient, transparent, and people-centered governance.

President Prabowo has proven that true leadership is not measured by popularity, but by tangible results felt by the people. Through its swift evaluation and intervention, the MBG now stands as a symbol of the country’s success in building the nation’s future from the very foundation: ensuring every Indonesian child grows up healthy, strong, and ready to achieve a bright future. With a clear vision and courage to act, President Prabowo asserts that the welfare of the people is the goal, and the MBG is the path.
