Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto outlined steps to accelerate the restoration of basic infrastructure and improve public services while inspecting flood-affected areas in Kutacane, Southeast Aceh.

The President emphasized that the government has prepared a special budget to strengthen village facilities and regional infrastructure.

“So, thank God, we have the budget. We’re making significant savings at the central level to provide as much assistance as possible, to help as many people as possible at the grassroots level—our targets are villages and sub-districts,” he said.

Regarding the damage caused by the floods, the President ensured that vital routes would be repaired immediately to restore connectivity.

“We will immediately open the broken roads and repair the damaged bridges,” said the President.

The President also inspected the kitchens and emergency facilities serving residents, while emphasizing the acceleration of the formation of village cooperatives to facilitate the distribution of subsidies.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, ensured the acceleration of connectivity recovery following the floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

“The first priority is to open road access so that all aid and equipment can enter safely,” he said.

He stated that the Ministry of Public Works had added heavy equipment and personnel and was working closely with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

Identification until December 2, 2025 recorded 253 landslide points and 86 flood points damaging national roads.

In Aceh, there were 46 landslides and 34 floods, which impacted 35 roads and 14 bridges were damaged.

Although some routes are accessible, 80-centimeter-deep floodwaters are still hampering the entry of heavy equipment.

The government has begun installing Bailey Bridges at a number of priority points.

“Today, small trucks can enter so aid can be distributed immediately,” said Dody.

In North Sumatra, 144 landslides and 20 floods damaged 25 roads and four bridges. The primary focus is clearing logistics routes to Tapanuli. In West Sumatra, 63 landslides and 32 floods affected 30 national roads.

The Ministry of Public Works is targeting completion of emergency repairs by December 16, 2025. The engineering center continues to clean up materials, normalize the river, fill in the landfill, and install the DPT.

During a review in West Sumatra, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), emphasized the importance of accelerating recovery.

“If this road section is cut off, it could be said that it will seriously disrupt economic activity,” he said.

He confirmed that temporary connections would be made immediately and that the line could be used again within two weeks.
