The Government Continues to Strengthen Programs to Support the Growth and Development of MSMEs
Jakarta – The government continues to strengthen programs to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enable them to grow and develop, including through digital-based training and the launch of an integrated application, scheduled for release in October 2025. These efforts are intended to ensure that MSMEs can compete in the era of digital transformation while contributing to national economic growth.
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, in collaboration with the Malang City Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade Office (Diskopindag), held a training program titled “Indosat Empowering MSMEs” at the Malang Creative Center. This activity aimed to equip entrepreneurs with practical skills in utilizing digital platforms to grow their businesses.
During the event, participants, who are MSMEs under the auspices of the Department of Trade and Industry, received material on product value-enhancing strategies, artificial intelligence optimization, effective Instagram usage, and tips for maximizing TikTok Shop. Fahd Yudhanegoro, EVP Head of Circle Java at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, emphasized the importance of understanding social media for businesses.
“Malang has significant potential for MSME development, so Indosat is here to make a real contribution through practical training. With the support of Indosat’s extensive and stable network, we hope this program will not only improve the capacity of entrepreneurs but also drive Malang’s long-term economic growth,” he said.
The Mayor of Malang’s Expert Staff for Economics and Finance, M. Sailendra, also expressed his appreciation.
“We greatly appreciate Indosat’s active contribution in helping MSMEs adapt to the digital era. Collaborating with Indosat on this training is a concrete step towards strengthening the digital transformation of MSMEs in East Java, particularly in Malang,” said Sailendra.
On the other hand, the central government is also preparing a new innovation in the form of the SAPA UMKM application, which will be launched in October 2025. This application is designed as an integrated service platform to connect business actors with various government facilities, programs, and information through one digital portal.
The Deputy for Small and Medium Enterprises at the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Fiki Satari, explained that the application’s purpose is to bring government services closer to MSMEs.
“SAPA UMKM is an application that brings government services closer to MSMEs. All information and facilities provided by the government can be accessed on one platform,” he said.
Fiki added that all features in the application were developed based on the real needs of business actors, ranging from access to digital training, financing services, business mentoring, to licensing that is connected to government systems.
“We hope SAPA UMKM can directly address the needs of micro, small, and medium enterprises. So, it’s not just a one-way information channel, but also a platform for interaction,” he explained.
