The Government Increases the Achievements of Social Assistance Programs on the Momentum of the Youth Pledge

Jakarta – This year’s commemoration of Youth Pledge Day is a special occasion to strengthen the spirit of unity and social awareness within the community. The government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs and various regional stakeholders, has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the foundations of public welfare through the distribution of targeted social assistance (Bansos). This step not only demonstrates the state’s presence but also encourages the younger generation to rise up and become empowered amidst global economic challenges.
While distributing aid in Batununggal District, Bandung City, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf emphasized that the distribution of direct cash assistance (BLT) is an important instrument in maintaining people’s purchasing power while strengthening social resilience.
“We ensure the distribution process runs smoothly and reaches the right targets, so that beneficiaries truly feel the government’s presence,” said Saifullah Yusuf.
He explained that aid distribution is flexible, both through designated bank offices and directly to communities at the sub-district or village level. The increase in the number of beneficiaries demonstrates the government’s concern for the community’s well-being.
“In the fourth quarter, there was a significant increase, from around 21 million to over 35 million beneficiaries. This is an extraordinary step in expanding the reach of welfare programs,” he said.
Meanwhile, in West Nusa Tenggara, the spirit of the Youth Pledge was also realized through social and cultural activities involving various youth groups. The Head of the NTB Social Service, Dra. Nunung Triningsih, MM, together with the Head of the NTB Early Childhood Education Center, Hj. Sinta Lalu M. Iqbal, handed over 40 food packages to the community at the Bank NTB Syariah Open Stage in Mataram. Nunung stated that this activity was not merely ceremonial, but also a forum to strengthen the values of solidarity and intergenerational care.
“The spirit of the Youth Pledge is about togetherness and mutual cooperation. The distribution of this social assistance is a tangible symbol that the younger generation must grow up in a caring environment,” said Nunung.
In addition to distributing aid, the event also featured an art competition, murals, and a bazaar showcasing the creative spirit of NTB’s young generation. These activities reflected the fact that social development focuses not only on economic assistance but also on strengthening character and nationalism.
The momentum of the 2025 Youth Pledge serves as a reminder that the nation’s strength lies in solidarity and social awareness. Through various social assistance programs and empowerment activities, the government strives to ensure that the next generation grows up with a strong fighting spirit, independence, and social responsibility for a more prosperous Indonesia.
