Jakarta, suaradewata.com – The government continues to accelerate national energy self-sufficiency by strengthening the management of strategic commodities, including oil and gas, coal, and new and renewable energy. This policy is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s broader strategy to achieve energy independence and strengthen national resilience.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that energy self-sufficiency is a key prerequisite for national sovereignty and sustainable national development. He emphasized that strategic commodities must be utilized optimally, fairly, and in the interests of the people. “We must manage our own energy resources for the greatest prosperity of the people and to safeguard national sovereignty,” President Prabowo Subianto asserted.

In line with the President’s directive, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the government is focused on accelerating national energy production by optimizing oil and gas fields, strengthening coal downstream processing, and accelerating renewable energy development. He stated that these steps aim not only to meet domestic energy needs but also to create added economic value and jobs. “Energy self-sufficiency is key to maintaining economic stability and strengthening national competitiveness,” he said.

Bahlil Lahadalia added that the government is also strengthening investment policies in the energy sector, including simplifying permits and increasing legal certainty, to attract investors to develop strategic commodities. This is being done to ensure sustainable national energy management and the nation’s long-term interests, he said.

The government considers public and business support to be crucial for the success of the energy self-sufficiency agenda. With synergy between the central and regional governments, and the business sector, the utilization of strategic commodities is expected to accelerate the transformation of the national energy sector.

With concrete steps through strengthening strategic commodities, downstreaming the energy sector, and consolidating policies across ministries and agencies, the government affirms its commitment to ensuring equitable and sustainable national energy security. These policies strengthen the state’s position in ensuring energy availability for the public while maintaining national economic stability.
