The national security situation is a crucial foundation for the continuity of life in society, the nation, and the state. In this context, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) play a leading role in maintaining stability and order, as well as preventing potential threats that could disrupt public peace. Their synergy is evident not only in major operations but also in daily routine activities that directly impact the public interest. The unified presence of the TNI and Polri creates a sense of security and demonstrates that state officials are ready to stand at the forefront to protect the people from various forms of security threats.
Agung Setiyo Wibowo, Director of The Pandita Institute and international relations observer, stated that the public needs to continue supporting the efforts of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to maintain national security. The crisis in Nepal serves as a reminder to Indonesia that provocation can exacerbate social tensions and divide unity. Therefore, the key to national stability lies in the synergy between the TNI and Polri, reflected in ongoing cross-sectoral cooperation. From securing community activities and responding to natural disasters to special operations concerning national security, the two sides consistently complement each other. This synergy extends beyond the structural level and is also closely intertwined in the field. TNI personnel, renowned for their resilience and discipline, combine with the Polri’s professionalism in law enforcement to create a unified force capable of facing any challenge.
Amidst the ever-evolving socio-political dynamics, challenges also arise in the form of provocations that have the potential to divide society. Issues circulated by certain parties, both through social media and direct action on the ground, are often exploited to stir up unrest. In this regard, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) remind the public to remain calm, wise, and not be easily influenced by unverified information. Collective public awareness is the primary bulwark against provocations that could lead to anarchic actions.
Meanwhile, international relations expert from Padjadjaran University, Prof. Teuku Rezasyah, reminded that the synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is a national defense force against all threats. Looking further, there are real-life examples, such as the phenomenon in Nepal, which is often compared to the Arab Spring a decade ago. However, he believes the context is very different. He believes the government has learned from the Arab Spring experience, where the people were easily swayed by various interest groups.

It is also hoped that the public will become increasingly aware that security is not merely the result of the work of the security forces, but rather the fruit of the unity of the entire nation. By maintaining communication, prioritizing unity, and rejecting provocation, Indonesia can continue to move forward as a peaceful, stable, and respected nation in the eyes of the world. Ultimately, this collective awareness is key to realizing the shared ideal of a safe and prosperous Indonesia.
