Jakarta – The government has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security and public order throughout Indonesia. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have been asked to work together more closely to address potential riots and looting that could threaten national sovereignty. This firm instruction came directly from President Prabowo Subianto, directed by the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Police, and the TNI Commander, emphasizing the importance of stability for the nation’s sake.

Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin emphasized that security forces will not hesitate to take firm action against those who attempt to disrupt public security.

“The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) will not hesitate to take action against those involved in riots and looting that disrupt public security and national sovereignty. The President has also tasked the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to continue monitoring the situation on the ground, while the Minister of Home Affairs has been asked to maintain coordination with local governments to ensure stability,” he said.

Sjafrie added that President Prabowo prioritizes the interests of the people. Therefore, the synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and other state institutions continues to be strengthened to maintain order, protect the public, and enforce the law throughout Indonesia.

“Mr. Prabowo will always be with the people in safeguarding the nation’s interests. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri) are guaranteed to be solid, not only at the central level but also in the regions, to ensure the security and well-being of all citizens,” Sjafrie said.

Meanwhile, the police are also taking concrete steps by deploying large-scale patrols. Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, stated that his office has instructed all police forces, from the regional police (Polda) to the district police (Polres) level, to conduct joint patrols with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

“On the orders of the National Police Chief, I have instructed all regional and district police (Polres) to immediately conduct large-scale joint patrols with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). The goal is clear: to ensure public safety from the threat of rioters and anarchists. We are here to protect every life, every property, and every public facility,” said Dedi.

He also understands the public’s concern over the widespread news coverage of looting. Therefore, the National Police are ensuring there is no room for anarchists to exploit the situation.

“We reaffirm our commitment: there is no room for anarchy and vandalism. We are conducting patrols down to the neighborhood unit (RT/RW) level to ensure the safety of our communities. We will take firm action against any perpetrators who exploit the situation to commit crimes, such as looting private homes or public facilities,” he stressed.

The TNI’s commitment to maintaining security was also voiced by regional officials. The Commander of the III/Siliwangi Military Command, Major General Kosasih, emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in maintaining stability.

“I have ordered all levels to support each other, including the police, the provincial government, and local governments. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and other officials must not act in isolation. We must work together, communicate with each other, nurture each other, care for each other, and protect each other,” said Kosasih.

According to him, synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), local governments, and the community is key to creating a sense of security within the community. With this integrated approach, potential social vulnerabilities can be prevented early, allowing development and community activities to continue running normally.

The government’s commitment to public security also demonstrates the state’s full commitment to safeguarding sovereignty. The solidarity of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), along with the support of all elements of the nation, is expected to close the gap for those seeking to instigate instability. With a strong commitment from the central government to the regions, national stability can be maintained, and the public can go about their activities without fear.
