Jakarta – The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have reaffirmed their full commitment to maintaining national security following demonstrations that turned violent in several regions. The collaboration between the two state institutions has been demonstrated through large-scale joint patrols and public awareness campaigns urging the public to remain calm and not be easily provoked by misleading information.

Head of Public Information of the Indonesian National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, emphasized that the presence of the TNI-Polri in the community is a concrete form of the state’s presence to provide a sense of security and comfort.

“On the President’s orders, we are fully focused on restoring security. The TNI and Polri are present together, not just symbolically, but with concrete action on the ground,” he said at a press conference at TNI Headquarters.

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) ensured that the situation was handled comprehensively, including preventive, preemptive, and persuasive measures, as well as measured legal action. Trunoyudo continued, explaining that the legal process against the perpetrators of the anarchy would be transparent and in accordance with the rules to ensure a sense of justice for the public.

Furthermore, the National Police urged the public to be wise in responding to information, especially that circulated through social media and chain messages. Trunoyudo reminded the public to always prioritize clarification before believing news that could potentially trigger unrest.

“We hope that aspirations will be conveyed within the applicable legal corridor, not through calls that lead to anarchy,” he stressed.

Similarly, Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo emphasized the importance of strengthening security operations. On the instructions of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, joint TNI-Polri patrols were conducted down to the neighborhood unit (RT/RW) level to ensure the safety of residents from potential riots and looting.

“There is no room for anarchy or vandalism. We are here to protect every life, property, and public facilities,” said Dedi.

He also reminded the public not to be swayed by incitement or hoaxes that could divide unity. Dedi stated that the authorities have been put on full alert, prioritizing professionalism, legal procedures, and respect for human rights.

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) emphasized its openness to constructive criticism from the public as part of its efforts to build a modern and humanistic organization. However, all parties were asked to work together to maintain a conducive environment.

“Collaboration between officials and local governments, community leaders, religious leaders, and youth is key. The community is our eyes and ears,” said Dedi.

Through the solidarity of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and active public participation, the government is optimistic that the situation can quickly return to normal and stability. Security forces have emphasized that their primary goal is to ensure peace and protect all Indonesians from potential provocations and threats.
