TNI and Polri United to Maintain Order, Peaceful Demonstrations Reflect Democratic Maturity
JAKARTA — The solidarity among all ranks of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is increasingly evident in maintaining order amid the ongoing national political dynamics.
The collaboration between these two security institutions ensures that demonstrations held by various community elements are peaceful, orderly, and reflect the maturity of democracy in Indonesia.
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto emphasized that the synergy between TNI and Polri is a crucial foundation in maintaining national stability.
“We, together with Polri, will always be on the front lines to protect the people from provocations and attempts that threaten peace,” he said.
“Do not let the public fall into divisive issues that only harm the nation’s interests,” added the TNI Commander.
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo added that the solidarity of the security forces is not just a slogan but a real commitment.
“This solidarity is not just jargon, but a real commitment. We will jointly handle any threats to public stability,” he stated.
“We also urge the public to remain vigilant against misleading information that can cause unrest,” the Police Chief added.
This strong synergy was evident in various moments, including securing demonstrations in September 2025.
The TNI-Polri officers prioritized a persuasive and humanistic approach, allowing public aspirations to be conveyed without conflict.
The success in maintaining peaceful demonstrations also shows that the authorities do not obstruct freedom of expression but safeguard that constitutional rights run orderly.
Fikri, Coordinator of the Indonesian People’s Solidarity Alliance (ASRI) and the Indonesian National Women’s Committee (KNPRI), stressed the importance of maintaining ethics in expressing aspirations.
“Any form of anarchic acts, vandalism, and efforts to pit the people against the police or TNI will only harm the public,” he explained.
“That damages the image of the struggle, injures the spirit of democracy, and is even a despicable and barbaric act,” said the ASRI Coordinator.
Fikri added that democracy grows stronger when aspirations are conveyed respectfully.
He expressed confidence that the national leadership under President Prabowo Subianto will provide concrete solutions for social stability and public welfare.
The solidarity of TNI-Polri alongside the community proves that Indonesian democracy can run dynamically without falling into anarchy.
Peaceful demonstrations are a real manifestation of the nation’s maturity in democracy and a symbol of unity to safeguard Indonesia’s safe and prosperous future. (*)
