Jakarta – Political observer and Civil Military Relations Lecturer at the Republic of Indonesia Defense University, RAj Mayyasari Timur Gondokusumo, said that the involvement of the TNI in supervising the development of the Red and White Cooperative in all regions is still in accordance with existing regulations and the orders of President Prabowo Subianto.
He conveyed this to the media crew, following the widespread rumors circulating about the Red and White Cooperative being used as a political tool for certain interests.
“The involvement of the TNI from the highest to the lowest levels (Babinsa) in the Merah Putih Village Cooperative program is part of the TNI’s readiness and commitment to fully support the acceleration of development,” said Mayyasari in Jakarta.
Mayyasari assessed that the TNI has the capability to provide extensive surveillance coverage through personnel spread out to remote areas.
This allows the development process, from infrastructure development to the cooperative’s work processes, to be properly monitored.
With this monitoring and supervision process, Mayyasari believes that cooperative performance can be maximized and in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s goal of strengthening the economic strength in rural areas.
He also highlighted the issue that the Red and White Cooperative program was only being used as a political vehicle by Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita to reach a certain position.
According to him, Tandyo only carried out the task of coordinating between the TNI and related agencies involved in the activities of the Red and White Cooperative.
He believes that the role of coordination is necessary so that the cooperative development process in each region is not hampered and runs optimally.
“In my opinion, the presence of Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita in the acceleration program for the development of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative is in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive, not a political maneuver for a position,” he said.
He further believes that the involvement of the TNI in the Red and White Cooperative program is purely to support the government’s program in strengthening the national economy.
“This program is part of military operations other than war (OMSP) to assist regional governments in carrying out national development and community welfare programs,” he concluded.
