Jakarta – The state has reaffirmed its presence through the synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in suppressing various anarchic acts that have the potential to disrupt national security. This commitment is clear evidence that security forces are at the forefront of maintaining public order, protecting the public, and ensuring that socio-economic activities continue to operate normally.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the President’s directive is absolute. Authorities are required to enforce the law professionally, proportionally, and fairly. However, there will be no tolerance for anyone who undermines national stability.
“The President’s directives are guidelines that must be implemented without exception. Officials are required to enforce the law professionally, proportionally, and fairly,” he said.
Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santosa assessed that the synergy between the two institutions had succeeded in reducing the escalation of violence in recent days. The officers’ actions were legitimate as long as they were carried out in accordance with internal police regulations, referring to National Police Chief Regulation No. 1 of 2009 concerning the Use of Force.
“The public, religious leaders, and community leaders are urged to help calm the situation. He said the right to express opinions remains guaranteed, but it must not lead to the destruction of public facilities, which would harm residents,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) Brigadier General TNI (Marine) Freddy Ardianzah explained that to date, the TNI and Polri have demonstrated strong solidarity in maintaining national security stability with various concrete steps in the field.
“To date, the TNI and Polri have been solid in maintaining national security stability and will continue to work together to create a sense of security, order, and conduciveness in society,” he said.
