TNI-Polri Synergy Ensures a Successful Youth Pledge Commemoration

Jakarta, In commemoration of the 97th Youth Pledge Day, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining national unity and strengthening the spirit of unity among the younger generation. Through various social activities, national assemblies, and joint ceremonies across Indonesia, the synergy between these two state institutions is clear evidence that the spirit of the 1928 Youth Pledge remains alive and relevant today.
This year’s Youth Pledge carries an important message of cross-sector collaboration for the nation’s progress. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) demonstrated solidarity in maintaining security and order, while also serving as role models for the younger generation in fostering nationalism amidst the challenges of globalization and digital disruption.
Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam), General TNI (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago said that the momentum of the Youth Pledge is an important event to strengthen the spirit of unity and remind the younger generation not to be easily provoked by issues that can divide the nation.
“I specifically wanted to meet with the soldiers currently serving as reserves under the TNI Commander. With the TNI Commander’s permission, I observed the soldiers’ readiness to assure us all that they are ready,” said Djamari.
Similarly, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, (Menko PMK) Pratikno said that synergy between the TNI, Polri, and the community is the main key to creating a conducive atmosphere amidst increasingly complex social dynamics and digital information challenges.
“The spirit of today’s Youth Pledge is no longer about physical struggle, but rather about maintaining national unity amidst the rapid flow of information. Our challenge now is to counter disinformation and provocation that can divide,” said Pratikno.
Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appreciated the contribution of the community and the younger generation in helping security forces maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the commemoration.
“National stability cannot be achieved by the authorities alone. This is the result of collaborative work between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and all elements of society,” said National Police Chief Sigit.
The Youth Pledge commemoration activities, held simultaneously in various regions, involved youth organizations, schoolchildren, and the general public. In a spirited atmosphere, participants were invited to reflect on the historic pledge of “One blood, one nation, and one language, Indonesia.”
Through the synergy of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and active public participation, this commemoration serves as a momentum to strengthen national solidarity. With a spirit of mutual cooperation and cross-agency collaboration, the TNI and Polri affirm their determination to continue maintaining security, strengthening unity, and being at the forefront of realizing a peaceful, advanced, and sovereign Indonesia.
