Papuan youth who are members of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) assisted by BIN develop their own gadgets under the brand name TOP.ID. TOP.ID itself is an abbreviation of Torang Papua Indonesia.
This gadget with the TOP.ID Brand will be officially launched at the inauguration of PYCH, March 21, 2023 by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo with the Head of BIN Budi Gunawan.
In addition, under the guidance of the BIN Research and Development Center with the brand name TOP.ID, young Papuans have succeeded in creating innovations by creating 2 sophisticated applications, namely Clean Trash-Containder, and Papua Pacific Park which are installed on gadgets made by the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH). .
Head of Research and Development Center (Kapuslitbang) of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Dr. Armi Susandi said, Papuan youth have a lot of potential to develop their talents and potential, especially in the field of information technology.
“The success of developing this operating system is proof that the sons and daughters of Papua have great potential in the field of technology and can produce innovations that can compete with products from other countries,” he said.
Armi said, with this breakthrough, Papuan children could be more interested in learning and developing technology in the future. TOP.ID is the first smartphone and laptop brand that is originally made by Papuan children.
“With the latest breakthroughs from Papuan youths in making Smartphones and Laptops and their applications, it is hoped that this can become an inspiration and spark a spirit of innovation and creativity, especially in the field of information technology, for the younger generation of Papua, Indonesia, and even the world,” said Armi
PMI Program Manager for Technology Elia Musa Rawar said PYCH as a center for creativity for young Papuans has goals, especially in the field of information technology. The TOP.ID gadget is one of the goals that can realize the welfare of the Papuan people.
