Jakarta – The commemoration of Heroes Day on November 10, 2025, was carried out solemnly, safely, and peacefully across Indonesia. At the national level, the pilgrimage and moment of reflection led by President Prabowo Subianto at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) in South Jakarta served as a symbol of the nation’s respect for the services of those who fought for Indonesia’s independence.
The ceremony, held on Sunday evening (November 9), began at 11:45 p.m. in a quiet and respectful atmosphere. President Prabowo was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul). Dressed in a dark blue suit and black peci (traditional cap), Prabowo led the wreath-laying ceremony at the National Heroes Monument as a mark of honor for the nation’s heroes.
In his address, the President called on all Indonesians to emulate the spirit of sacrifice shown by the country’s fighters who came before them.
“Let us remember the spirits and services of our heroes who gave their lives defending the independence, sovereignty, and honor of the Indonesian nation. Let us never forget their sacrifices and heroism,” said Prabowo.
This year’s Heroes Day carries the theme “My Hero, My Role Model: Keep Moving Forward, Continue the Struggle,” reflecting the determination of the younger generation to uphold the values of nationalism and continue the ideals of the nation’s struggle.
Meanwhile, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf called on all Indonesians to take part in a nationwide moment of silence on Monday (November 10) at 8:15 a.m.
“Wherever you are, let us pause for a moment of silence to honor the services of our heroes,” he said.
The ceremony at Kalibata also marked the occasion for the government to announce this year’s recipients of the National Hero title, as a tribute to individuals who made outstanding contributions to Indonesia’s independence and progress.
