During the 2019 General Elections (many general elections) many used Social Media (Medsos) in the campaign positively, but it was not denied that social media became a black media campaign. The effects of black campaigns can divide society. This is what encourages Indonesian people with a total of 150 million social media users to immediately carry out social media reconciliation. Social Media is an online media, with its users easily participating, sharing, communicating, social networking and the negative mutual criticism that makes social noise.
Indonesia as a connoisseur and social media users must be aware of the functions and negative effects of social media. So far, the government has been quite firm in the past few years dealing with cases of social misuse. There are many examples of people imprisoned for using social media. Starting from famous musician Ahmad Dhani was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months imprisonment on January 28, 2019 then, after the defendant violated the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (ITE Law) for his twit in 2017 which was considered to spread hatred and hostility.
Another case was the ITE Law from the Saracen group that existed on Facebook and the website in mid-2017. The Saracen group uploaded content containing hate speech and hoaxes aimed at certain groups. In fact, some posts allude to the sentiments of ethnicity, religion, race and intergroup (SARA). The media used to spread negative content include the Facebook Group Saracen News, the Saracen Cyber Team, the Saracennews.com site and various other groups that attract Warganet to join.
The terrorist acts in New Zealand were also very terrible, because the perpetrators had broadcast live the attack on Facebook for 17 minutes. This brutal Video then spread rapidly on the social media platform. Technology companies were made confused. Facebook, for example, immediately deleted about 1.5 million copies of the videos circulating in their possession, 24 hours after the terrorist act took place. Similar steps were taken by other companies, from YouTube, Twitter, to Reddit.
The above case makes this nation must improve itself on how to behave wisely. After the peak of noise in Indonesia in the April 2019 Election event, now it seems that after the election it turns out that there are still conflicting parties surrounded, this indicates that there are certain groups that have other agendas so that our nation is destroyed. One such group is the one who has radicalism who continues to use propaganda propaganda wrapped in the issue of SARA.
Social media reconciliation needs to be done. There is an interesting statement from the speech of the Vice President (Vice President) elected 2019-2024 namely Prof. KH. Ma’ruf Amin after he was appointed by the KPU on Sunday, June 30, 2019, stated “Between neighbors, between friends, between families, just because of different political choices, don’t block each other from blocking on (social) media. And we have to end it. “
Ma’ruf Amin as the number 2 candidate in Indonesia after being installed in October, of course, is very concerned about the importance of this nation’s unity. The views of Kiai Ma’ruf Amin that unity is needed towards Indonesian welfare. This was previously conveyed by President Jokowi that the nation’s greatest asset is unity and brotherhood to build the nation towards the progress of the nation. The current unity begins to erode due to the use of social media that blaspheme each other and the spread of hate speech. The hope is that 2019 Election contestants smartly and wisely conduct reconciliation to cool the atmosphere of supporters and sympathizers.
All parties, both the community and the government, have the same duty to realize reconciliation as an effort to resolve political choice differences. The example of reconciliation is quite significant, namely the meeting of President Jokowi and Vice President 2019-2024 Kiai Ma’ruf Amin with his rivals in the 2019 Presidential Election, namely Mr. H. Prabowo Subianto and Mr. H. Sandiaga Uno. If the meeting of the two contestants meets then the turmoil of the split below will be cured. From now on, netizens must enliven campaigns that contain content of positive content that fosters optimism and encourages reconciliation for the integrity of Indonesia. Let us oppose Hoaxes and understand radicalism which continues to try to destroy national unity.
