Corruption seems to be an increasingly frightening specter. Including the BUMN Mafia, which are considered a number of parties have walked freely like anti-law and cases. However, just be prepared, the Government seeks to eradicate the mafia which has long undermined the people’s money.

Jokowi’s statement firmly wants to eradicate corruption. This statement is not an “omdo” alias talking about it. He said he would prove that the BUMN Mafia must get ready whenever it is hit. Citizens’ unrest about governance in a number of sectors considered to be polluted by corruption is increasingly becoming. The reason is, this Mafia seems to be above the law so that it can waltz freely wherever they like.

As is known to many parties, regarding this mafia turns out to dominate a lot. Starting from the Tax mafia, KPK mafia, Electric mafia, and now the BUMN Mafia virus. Moreover, this news sticks out after the new cabinet will enter the SOE institution. These people are famous for their assertiveness. This was confirmed by Jokowi’s statement warning that there should be no mafia, let alone hijacking law enforcement officers. If it happens, get ready to be removed!

The directive was conveyed by Jokowi when opening a limited meeting with the ranks of the Coordinating Ministry for Politics and Security at the President’s Office. Initially Jokowi asked law enforcement officials not to pry into the mistakes of investors. Jokowi also ordered the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security, the Attorney General, the National Police to the KPK that the law must guarantee the courage of investors and industry players in maintaining government programs. He claimed that the mafia hijacking made government programs stagnant. He also advised that these mafias certainly could not roam, because they would block development.

In line with this, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) fully supports the KPK’s move to target a number of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) as corruption suspects in the corporate sector. Febri Hendri as the Coordinator of the ICW Investigation Division, stated that in addition to ensnaring those who practice corruption, the KPK is also required to ensnare corporate actors. This is because the drive for corruption originates from corporations. Because, it is the corporation that has the resources for it. With this imposed, it is hoped that there will be improvements in the structure and also the applicable system.

Well, the most responsible in this corporation is primarily the directors and commissioners. Based on the latest survey conducted by the ICW, in addition to political parties, corporations have the lowest role in eradicating corruption. Establishing a BUMN as a suspect in the case of rasuah will indeed have an impact on projects handled by the government, including in the economic sector. Nevertheless the law must still be upheld.

Febri added that if not dealt with firmly, then these people would do the same thing continuously. For example, getting a project in a dirty way and holding a project with corruption as well. Now the KPK is handling a number of cases involving these state institutions. Among other things, the KTP – electronic corruption case which also took PT LEN Industri, PT PNRI, and PT Sucofindo. These three companies are suspected to be a profit collector for these acts of corruption. Even recorded by the BPK the value of state losses reached Rp706 billion. The main suspect is a BUMN actor, PT Adhi Karya Tbk. In addition to the project, the former Adhi Karya official had previously been convicted in this corruption case.

Previously, Danang Girindrawardana as Chair of the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo) in Public Policy also asked the KPK. To not only ensnare private corporations as corruption suspects. But also SOEs because there are also many cases of rasuah conducted at these institutions. The new KPK has named PT Nusa Konstruksi Engineering as a suspect in corruption in the corporate sector.

This company is suspected to have harmed the country in the construction project of the Udayana University Hospital, in the Bali area, the period 2009 to 2010. Unlike the Hambalang project which was totally dead, the hospital project is now operational and can serve the people of Bali.

The number of corruption cases often makes people frustrated, how not, state money whose income from the people even cut for personal pleasure. Therefore Jokowi’s direction reaps the support of all parties. Incessant efforts to eradicate the mafia, especially in these state-owned BUMN institutions, must continue. Do not rule out the possibility of opening one road, will lead the other way to arrest other mafias. Including from various institutions and unexpected sectors.
